translation: this is a cool add-on, but when I use it, firefox crashes continually. I am using firefox 39.0, on Ubuntu 14.04, I think it needs some debugging.

The idea is great, while the implementation could be improved. I've only tried the vertical tree, not the horizontal.

1. Moving trees is unintuitive and hard. I suggest you take the Firefox bookmarks library as an example (CTRL + SHIFT + B) of a decent implementation.
> But that's okay, you get used to it.

1.1. You can't move an expanded tree into another tab, because the target tab goes below the whole tree. You have to close the tree, then move it into another tab and then reopen it.

1.2. I find it hard to move a tab into another tab if you move it from the bottom up. You have to go over the target tab, then back up and go over it until it's highlighted.

2. The addon lags. I have only about a 100 tabs open (most of them not loaded) and moving/ expanding trees is slow.
> But that's probably Firefox's problem. Come to think of it, Firefox always lags when I have 100+ tabs open.

3. The addon does not save the tree structure correctly. I think that there is a problem with remembering the first tree, because both times i made all the subtrees to the first tree main trees. (So if I have 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 2, 3 as tabs, I'd get 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 3.1, 4, 5)
> That happened twice, and it's okay - you can use a workaround and make a dummy first tab.

4. The addon doesn't integrate well with tab groups. You can't move a tree from one group to the other and save the structure. Tab groups are an internal Firefox feature, not some addon (although there is Tab Groups Helper).
> But I prefer it over tab groups. Right now I'm down to 1 group.

5. You can't* make a folder in the tree. It would be especially useful to do so (like in the bookmarks library), because it would mimic tab groups and render them useless. Now I have to make a google search for a topic and place it as a root tab so I can see the name of the tree.
EDIT: You can! Bookmark this:
about:treestyletab-group?title=foobar&temporary=false
and it will make a new folder you can place your tabs in! Not sure what the difference between a temp and permanent group is, though (so I added temporary=false). I hope t

6. The option to control indent size is hidden in about:config and not exposed in the GUI.
> But that's minor one-time inconvenience.

7. Moving a tab loads it (If you move a tree, it loads on the tab you're dragging).

I just want to provide some honest criticism, no hard feelings. This addon is still waaay better than the way Firefox traditionally handles tab management (not a hard thing to accomplish). I prefer the vertical tree style over the multirow Tab Mix Plus feature, even if it's not perfect.

Why isn't Firefox integrating this into the browser itself?! For the last few years I haven't seen any substantial improvement in Firefox (usability wise) - only bloat.
Not all users are fine with having only 10 tabs open. You don't have to be a nerdy poweruser with 5000 tabs to appreciate the usefulness of a vertical tab tree.

I STRONGLY urge the Firefox development team to consider integrating useful addons into the browser itself - that way there won't be incompatibility between addons and the addons will work fine with all browser versions. You can't expect addon developers to keep up with all the changes and to maintain a bug-free, feature-full and user-friendly addon on their own. Things like Classic Theme Restorer, ProfileSwitcher, Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar, Tab Mix Plus and Tree Style Tab shouldn't be addons. They should be built in.

As a side note, the Classic Theme Restorer's tab height option works well with Tree Style Tab. I set it to 18, which makes more tabs visible at once (extensions.classicthemerestorer.ctabheight).

I use the Tree style tabs for a long time. I wish success to the developer =)

Wonderfully useful thing, I've been using it for over a month and it's here to stay.

I have two small complaints: the add-on doesn't seem to adjust the window/screen size variables, so some web sites which rely on them render as if the bar wasn't there, causing them to produce a horizontal scrollbar. This is easy to work around by clicking on the slider, but there's an odd bug when sometimes the click on the slider leaves behind a visual remnant, and then I have to go to F11 and back to make it render again and show right.

I want to use this, but it doesn't display tab titles for me :( Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A shame, because Tab Utilities does the job but is also kind of glitchy and comes with extra features I don't need, and slows my FF down quite a bit.

must have addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of my must have Firefox addons.
Without Tree Style Tab, I should use chrome or other browsers.

Perfect for productivity boost... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

and @illuminatifire: you get color-coding of the diverse tab states (unloaded, unread, selected,...) with the AddOn "Classic Theme Restorer". It supplements this AddOn perfectly. Switched from Tab Mix Plus. Even the multirow tabbing etc. couldn't handle the tab load anymore...

Great add-on with TabMixPlus integration Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This app is great and integrates well with Tab Mix Plus, it would be great if they added a color feature similar to the one on Tab Mix Plus to know what tabs have loaded and which ones have been visited.

Regarding the review about customizing the menu bars breaking this extension, I've found that after I customize my toolbars, I have to go to this extension's options and reselect the side I want it to show on. Other than that, it works great!

Edit: it seems to happen when buttons are removed from a toolbar during customization and not when adding to them.

Essential Firefox Add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Absolutely love tree style tab and have been using it for years. It is an essential part of how I setup and use Firefox.

One Problem:
Current versions of Firefox are breaking this wonderful add-on. If you "Customize" the menu and toolbars it will completely break Tree Style Tabs. Tabs will revert to horizontal tab bar and only fix I have found so far is completely removing that profile and creating a new profile.

Essential Addon - but watch for Firefox fouling the settings Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I thought the addon was broken until I went to the support page. There's a known issue where the Customize function in Firefox resets the tab position to Top instead of what you wanted. Easy workaround - just go to the addon's settings and change it back - but it's still annoying. Mozilla, please fix Firefox!

A must have for someone who cant focus on one thing Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A perfect addons, as the name itself suggest, making managing tabs far more easier than anything else, been coming back to firefox from chrome because of this and session manager, truly a must have.
