The last while, it may have started causing massive memory leaks with youtube. Just like it youtube does with other popular adblockers. Even turning off the adblock function of this addon, there might still be memory leaks. I could be wrong though. Might be worth looking into? Maybe let us turn off storing client-side data?

Unfortunately client side data is needed to store the databases that protect you. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15480928, 11 days ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by hamslamwich, 19 days agoAs adblockers go this thing is ridiculously overzealous. Blocks the purchase button from working if the website doesn't pass some kind of inscrutable vibe test.
Usually this is merely annoying but recently it made me miss reordering some prescription eyedrops for my dog.
Run away from here, ublock Origin on its own is fine! Run away!Developer response
posted 10 days agoThank you for the feedback. If you can, it would be great to know the sites that are not working with Browser Guard. You can reach us at support.malwarebytes.com. - Rated 2 out of 5by JD6T_P6, 20 days agoI've been using "Malwarebytes Browser Guard" for a couple of months, and I've noticed a few issues.
There's no doubt it does a great job blocking malicious sites, trackers, scams, etc. But it also slows down the browser when I have several tabs open or when loading more than one tab at the same time. After testing, I noticed a pattern (at least in my case): the more images a website has (Google Maps, ArtStation, Pinterest, etc.), the worse the browser's performance gets. So, I went into the extension's settings and disabled its three main features (Ads/Trackers = Off, Malware = Off, Scams = Off) for each of these sites, but to my surprise, it didn't work—the sites were still slow. I assume that Malwarebytes is still scanning all the links on the site, but the fact that this happens even after disabling those features feels like a big flaw. Hopefully, it's just me not knowing how to use the extension properly, but for now, I had to disable it.
At first, I thought the issue was related to my browser's cache or something similar, so I reset the browser, and that fixed it temporarily. However, once I reinstalled my extensions, the issue came back. After testing them one by one, I found out that the problem was caused by "Malwarebytes Browser Guard."
This wouldn't be such a big deal, but I use the aforementioned pages a lot and at least I think that many users also use Google Maps and from my experience, that's where the issue is the worst.Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by Celeste, a month agoThe tool is excellent, but the current problem is that the Browser Guard for Mozilla Firefox version is not receiving updates to the latest version available like other browsers. The website says it is already at version 3.0 and here it is at version: 2.6.27. Please update, we know how important it is to keep the software updated and with the latest definitions.

posted 11 days agoFirefox is still getting database updates every 30 minutes for new threats in the wild.
We are currently working on migrating the Firefox extension to the new Manifest v3 format (MV3).
Due to the differences between Firefox and Chromium (Chrome, Edge etc.) engines we've had to take more time to ensure it is right.
We are hoping to have a beta of the new Firefox MV3 version out soon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18692366, a month ago
