Review Update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Moonbeam on your support page describes the same problem I'm suffering: vertical tabs rather than multi-row. JNP in a review on the Mozilla Add-on page for your extension provides a resolution but doesn't clearly explain how to get to settings, as I could not find anything in Firefox that uses the term minfy.

Here's his comments: "I then read the update notes about 'fixing' a bug in minify tabs in version 28.3. On a hunch, I went into settings, unchecked the minify tabs box and my tabs returned to aligning themselves horizontally rather than vertically."

Shivanand , thanks for the super-quick reply. It worked after I restarted the browser. For others: to uncheck minify option, right click on any tab, go to the bottom of the menu and click on ColorfulTabs, then remove the check mark from Mini-Mode.

looks pretty, but the cause for all my firefox crashes Rated 1 out of 5 stars

found out after many months of ever more crashes, it was colfultabs (perhaps interfering with another add-ons, dont know)

unzuverlässig Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Difficulty With Latest Version - A Possible Solution For Vertical Tabs Alignment Rated 4 out of 5 stars

When the latest version came out, CT stacked the tabs, vertically, on top of one another in a row. I couldn't figure out why this was happening and reverted to 28.1. I then read the update notes about "fixing" a bug in minify tabs in version 28.3. On a hunch, I went into settings, unchecked the minify tabs box and my tabs returned to aligning themselves horizontally rather than vertically. So, SS I hope this helps you, and others, I think like Snork, who seem to be suffering from the same problem.

Used to be a long year friend .. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

... but now it breaks close icons on tabs, and the link to the older versions leads to nothing / not found ... sorry, buddy, but tis means goodbye to this addon.

Unhappy with updates! specifically 8/24/15 Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Every time colorful tabs updates my tabs get all messed up and sometimes they even disappear. I love this addon as it makes my tabs easy to see but the updates are killing me. This last update required that I reset to the tabs to the original settings in order for my tabs to display properly. It is a royal pain everytime you roll out an update!

sadly i must uninstall Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Note I give this five stars for past performance. But now with last update Aug 24 2015 I must uninstall. I have many addons and now the tabs are gigantic and wasting space. dont want to go through the trouble of safe mode, disabling the addons half by half, etc. so must say good bye to this very nice addon. bye and thanks it was good while it lasted.

Looks great however one problem it conflicts with the autoclose tab plugin which I need. I tried unticking force strict control to prevent other plugins

if it would co-exist with autoclose tab I would
give it a 5

or at least provide a function to do that in your plugin.

thanks

Very nice add-on. Recently placed an auto-loading fund raising page on my browser which never goes away, interferes with and sometimes untracks browser boot-up, and as far as I can find to date is not easy to remove.

Too bad. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone despite its quality as an add on.

Designer and Binary Turf do not respond after weeks of inquiries.

As Mr. Sharma suggests below, I'm moving on. Hopefully this will kill the hijacker, but I'm not confident. These are not "loving" people, and I believe potential users ought to know.

very useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

just an fyi, FF 40 upgrade lists it as not verified even though it still seems to work ok.

I LOVE this add-on. So pretty and helps you to keep organized while surfing a lot of tabs at once.

Colour tabs Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great ad on. Separates tabs in a manner that simplifies selection and is very user friendly. Only negative is the number of tabs launched advising of updates. Should just do them.

Adware - Tired of it Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Lord. Would you PLEASE add an option to not be forced/hijacked to your personal site EVERY time you update this add-on? Seriously, sort of a cheap coding gimmick for someone that recommends a $10 donation for their "free" add-on.

Hey, what about removing the hijacking of the users browser to your personal website? Don't want to respond to that?

The recommended contribution is higher. ColorfulTabs is "currently" free. But in this open-source ecosystem there are alternatives that come in all varieties and flavors. Thanks for using ColorfulTabs.

5-star add-on - working with TreeStyleTabs too - while many other similar add-ons are not working with that.

But one thing that i could not find is - If one wants to highlight a 'Local' tab - ie, a tab in which a locally-saved webpage is loaded whose URL starts in "file:///C:/Users"

It would be helpful if local address too can be added

The ability to color tabs is the only feature that Internet Explorer has that I wish Firefox would include by default.

This extension is very useful. The biggest feature it needs is the ability to color tabs intelligently with similar colors, like in Internet Explorer. Once it can do that, it's a 5 Star extension.

Note that the 'About this Add-on' section instructs visitors to download the extension from another website. As of today, the version here on AMO is newer than the one on that site. Also, that screenshot really needs an update!

Does not work with the addon 'Classic Theme Restorer' Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Don't do what 'sparklark' did 9 reviews below - it undoes all your UI customisations.

Irritatingly I followed it and then spent ages finding out how to change everything back.

Also this addon appears to do weird things to the UI, like make the tab line and tab dropline list on the far right of the tab bar wider and taller per tab.

All I wanted to do was colour one or two tabs manually; I don't see why I need to use the horrible default Firefox theme in order for this addon to work. Simply colouring tabs should be very easy and simple to code and remain compatibility with custom themes like 'Classic Theme Restorer'.

As such I cannot use this addon.

I have been using this addon for a very long time, and I just had to make a review for this addon.

There isn't much to say. It does what it says without any problems. I totally recommand it.

Colorful categories and minifying tabs. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like ColorfulTabs. It were good, however, if we could pick colors based on categories, as well as, by domain name.

What is the purpose of option "Minify Tabs"?

Old Color Picker was better Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The color picker in version 26.3 and older allowed me to see the changes as I was making to them. Loved being able to easily fine tune colors.

The new color reminds me of being blind-folded and trying to hit a pinata.

Guess a hex code and hope that it hits the color shade wanted. I removed the new version and went back to 26.3 and set the Automatic Updates to "off"
