- Rated 1 out of 5by RoboMeister, 5 hours agoNow, my one-star rating is by no means because of this addon not doing its job well - it is very good at that. But recently, the developers made the callous decision to block ads on a website called Modrinth by default.
To explain, Modrinth is a website that hosts Minecraft mods, resource packs, and similar files and provides revenue to the people creating them. To do this, they use ads, albeit unobtrusively and leading to legitimate partners such as server hosts. So for uBlock Origin to suddenly blacklist Modrinth by default, AND stifle all discussion about it on their Github, makes zero sense. I'm gonna have to swap adblockers until they can get their act together and focus on far more malicious content rather than harmless ads that genuinely help out a website and its users at the same time. - Rated 1 out of 5by Cammie, 7 hours agoapparently now supports screwing over small creators and other community-run projects, and anyone who attempts to ask them to not just gets their response deleted
I cant in good conscious recommend any community-run project that is willing to harm other community-run projects, especially when they won't even listen to valid criticism of their decisions

- Rated 5 out of 5by MilkToast, 14 hours agoIt blocks ads well and also does wonders stopping trackers. Consistently updated to keep up with anti-adblock measures and even has customisation to support developers of choice! Bravo Mr. Hill.
- Rated 1 out of 5by NothingTheta, 20 hours agouBlock censors content added to posts by users of a service. Not just "big evil ads" but small affiliate links, at the bottom of pages, by small solo developers. In my opinion this is a gross overreach of what uBlock Origin should be used for. uBlock Origin should block ads, not small affiliate links added by developers just making something for fun and just wanting a little bit back.
It is ridiculous for uBlock origin to censor the content people post like this, why do they think they are the deciders of what content is allowed to exist on the internet? Shameful.
I can see the reason for a opt in filter list for things like affiliate links for those who care, but on by default censoring users content is ridiculous. - Rated 5 out of 5by Yuji, a day ago
