- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14635814, 10 months agoThe syncing between Firefox and Chrome worked pretty well, but some weird stuff happened. I had backed up my bookmarks before use. The Firefox Places database got a cluster of new separators in the Bookmarks Toolbar, and lost some others. (This may have something to do with the fact that Chrome does not have separators.) Firefox Bookmarks Manager stopped working - I could not add or delete anything. Restarting Firefox was not helpful, though the cluster of separators was reduced to one. I opened about:support, and verified the integrity of the database (there's a button far down the page); the database was intact, but the problem remained. I then tried clearing the Startup Cache (This button is at the top of the about:support page.) Bookmark Manager started working again. It's a little inconvenient for my intended pattern of use. I have to log out of the accounts with Mozilla and Google to ensure it will work properly. That's not compatible with other uses I have for Chrome, so you have to shut down the native sync functions, run xBrowserSync, and then shut it down and turn the native sync functions back on. I'm not sure I want to keep using it.
- Rated 4 out of 5by johngto455, a year agoInstall/setup well done worked smoothly considering crossing several different browsers. Privacy seems important to dev team/Company which other companies use as a advertising tag line. Hopefully the positive experience continues with daily use.
- Rated 4 out of 5by RokeJulianLockhart, 2 years agoNegative: Doesn't work on Mobile. Positive: Properly synchronizes between Chrome and Firefox (on desktop) with both native bookmark sync functionalities enabled.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Mister GothFvck, 3 years ago- Very helpful for organizing multiple sets of bookmarks.
- Lowers the reliance on Firefox / Mozilla's servers and spreads the attack vector among other parties.
- Anyone can host a xBrowserSync!
-- I very much look forward to all the forthcoming features. Right now this is very handy but there's almost always room for improvement. ;) - Rated 4 out of 5by EWG, 3 years ago

posted 5 years agoWhich version? v1.5.2 has resolved all sync issues. If you have a real issue then why don't you raise it on GitHub (https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/issues), the extension makes it clear how users can easily do this!
I realise it's annoying when you are affected by bugs but this is a free open-source extension that I build and support out of my spare time, yet Firefox users seem to prefer to come on here and leave a negative review rather than seek free help and support the project!!! Over 6000 Chrome users don't appear to follow this behaviour judging from the reviews on the Chrome web store... - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15301099, 5 years agoI was hoping this add-on would keep my 200+ bookmarks synced between all five of my computers, each with Firefox and Chrome installed. It works for awhile, but then unfortunately it loses about half of the bookmarks, forcing me to restore from backup. It seems to work very well in Chrome alone. I'll try it again in Firefox in the future.

posted 5 years agoHi there, just to let you know this issue (https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/issues/58) has been resolved for the upcoming v1.5.0 release.
I've been working hard to get all of the reported syncing issues resolved and am currently doing extensive testing to ensure that v1.5.0 is stable as a rock. If you'd like to check it out, you can get the beta here:

posted 6 years agoBonjour! Je suis désolé mais je ne parle pas français!
This error is due to a known issue in Firefox when attempting to enable an existing sync ID that contains bookmarks with a URL starting with "chrome://...". Apologies for the inconvenience, it will be fixed for the next release.
You can track the issue here: https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/issues/58
