Frustrating crap cant save its damn settings Rated 1 out of 5 stars

worked well originally, but the programmers must be incompetent now because whenever it updates for the past like half year now, it resets all your tracker specific settings so you have to set it all back up manually which is irritating as all hell

email me at pete@ghostery.com. We have a beta version that solves this.. It should be put in the beta channel very soon.

The latest release provides a lot of info. on the Trackers. Thereby, allowing you to make an informed decision on whether it is invasive (or not). Ghostery, No-Script & LastPass are the 3 best and most usefuls tools to add-on to FF. HANDS DOWN!!!!!!

I use Ghostery everywhere Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ghostery is an essential part of securing the Firefox browser. I use it on Linux, Windows, and now Android OSes. Why does Ghostery not have the block all checkbox for the Cookies and Trackers tabs for the smart phones? Also, I see reports here that Ghostery is resetting itself and that's so dangerous for novices. Previous versions I've used on non-smartphone devices had a bad habit when cookie and tablet list updates occurred, it would wipe out your configuration such that everytime it updated, you'd have to go in and reconfigure it. I know because I block all and then after an update, i would have to go in and block all again. That got fixed, but it's not clear this is the case for my smart phone. Looks like i will have to keep a close eye on updates again.

What Happened to Ghostery? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Every time I now reboot on Firefox 36, Ghostery blocks NOTHING, I get the alert bubble which I don't want and I'm forced to re-enter everything I previously had saved. Can this situation be fixed?

Wizard pops up everytime I start Firefox Rated 2 out of 5 stars

No matter if Firefox crashed and I restart it or if I simply just switched on my computer and load Firefox, the Ghostery wizard always pops up in a tab, as if I just installed it and I'm fed up with it. This add-on does it's actual job well, but something with the installation checking routine is badly coded.

Nice privacy enhancing add-on. This blocks many trackers not found in any of the ad block plus subscriptions I am running. Occasionally, a webpage function may break but this can easily be circumvented using the "allow on page" or "pause blocking" functions. The one drawback is that you really need to go through "advanced options", if you're going to get the most out of the extension. If you're not a Firefox power-user, don't be frightened off by the advanced designation. I personally feel like, "more options" or "miscellaneous" would be a much better descriptor, in the case of this particular add-on.

I tried to go to the Support Website of this addon, but it shows up like its broken. Anyhow, the Main issue I have is that.. the Settings do not stick. They all reset every now and then, and I cannot import any backups, but I can export a backup. Not sure how long this has been going on, but its sorta bad when all my settings get reset. Please Fix :/

Хотя в их базе сайт есть https://www.ghostery.com/ru/apps/marketgid . Похоже, они не блокируют рекламу тех, кто им за это платит.
Естественно, нет возможности самому задать критерии фильтра.

SM 2.32 - Will Ghostery ride again with SeaMonkey? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I loved Ghostery when I could use itm before SeaMonkey became incompatible in the last few SM versions. SeaMonkey 2.32 (just out - Jan 14, 2015) is supposed to work with Ghostery again (fixing the incompatibility with Ghostery was a specific "bug" resolved in this latest SM release). The extension version on the Mozilla Add On site still says it isn't compatible (with SM 2.32). Any idea when will this be resolved?

Would be 5-stars if an easier starting wizard could be created. Showing different privacy's types explained simply and after user's choice, taking care of selecting bugs and cookies that way. Not everyone understand the web's technical language that is involved in this domain... And, time spend to get a clear view will get many users discouraged...

Saving me being tracked from everyone (might still be tracked from Ghostery, though). Saves me - together with ABP - heaps of bandwidth and loading time. Even saves a bit of energy by not serving that many adds, analytics and social media buttons from hundreds of server.

But, yeah, I get it.... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this great privacy enhancing plugin :) But to the detractors of this plugin... Yeah, I get it. I too despise data collection. Too often, the "If it's free you're the product" business model has unfavorable consequences. In this case, I don't think those consequences are as deeply invasive as say those of the TLA's, goog, yah, ms, etc. Also note, there is an option to disable Ghosterly's data collection. You can use Fiddler (though now maintained by Telerik, still excellent) to assure your privacy option is behaving in accordance with your wishes.

Once in a great while a page will break but Ghostery has all the tools to easily identify and fix this. The feeling of safety is well worth the infrequent slight inconvenience.
