Sightline Fold treats obstructed reading space as a geometry problem. When the popup opens, it checks at most 5,000 elements in the active page and considers only visible elements whose computed position is fixed or sticky and whose on-screen area is large enough to matter. It estimates occupied viewport area on a bounded 24 by 16 measurement grid and draws a miniature obstruction map.

The instrument does not classify advertising, consent notices, chat tools, navigation, or video by meaning. It reports what physically occupies the visible surface. Each listed obstruction includes its position type and approximate width and height as a percentage of the viewport. Locate briefly outlines the corresponding page element.

Peel makes the detected elements translucent and non-interactive. Fold reduces them toward the upper-right anchor so the page underneath becomes readable. Restore reapplies the exact inline style attribute captured before Sightline Fold changed the element. Nothing is removed from the DOM. Reloading the page also discards the temporary adjustment.

Sightline Fold stores no browsing history, rules, page text, screenshots, or domain settings. The scan result exists only while the popup is open, while original inline styles remain only in the page’s isolated extension world for restoration. It does not contact any network service, run automatically on sites, or claim to bypass paywalls or consent requirements. Browser-protected pages where extensions cannot run are reported as unavailable.
