ReadShelf Sync combines a private read-later shelf with a powerful workspace for organizing native Firefox bookmarks.

Save pages for later, organize large collections and check whether saved links are still reachable — without creating an account with an external service.

ReadShelf entries and settings can be synchronized between desktop Firefox installations through Firefox Sync.


ReadShelf Sync can also display and organize your existing native Firefox bookmarks without importing them into ReadShelf.

The library workspace includes:

• Selection across folders and views
• Direct “Select all” actions for complete folders
• Bulk editing, moving, copying and cleanup
• Transfers between ReadShelf and Firefox bookmarks

• Clear separation between reversible ReadShelf deletion and permanent Firefox bookmark deletion

Active selections always remain visible in the interface. If selected links are outside the current view, ReadShelf Sync explicitly shows this and provides a dedicated selection view before any potentially destructive action is performed.


Check individual links, complete folders or larger collections for:

• Reachable pages
• Redirects
• Protected pages such as HTTP 401 or 403 responses
• Dead links such as HTTP 404 or 410 responses
• Rate limits, server errors and unclear network failures
• Links that have not yet been checked

A live progress display shows how many links have been checked, the total number of links, the current percentage and the result counts. Running checks can be cancelled at any time.

Link-health history is associated with both the saved item and a compact canonical URL identity. This helps preserve existing results if Firefox changes an internal bookmark ID.


ReadShelf Sync has no telemetry, analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking or developer-operated cloud service. It does not download or execute remote code.

• ReadShelf metadata is stored through Firefox Sync when synchronization is available.
• Native Firefox bookmarks are accessed locally through Firefox’s bookmarks API.
• Link-health results, favicon cache and screenshots remain in local extension storage.
• Link checks contact the respective saved websites directly and only after a user starts a check.
• Optional website permissions are requested from a direct user action.
• No browsing or bookmark data is sent to the d
