Hover is a minimalist PDF reader built for people who spend way too much time reading academic papers in the browser.


Features

• Inline Citation Preview
  Hover over any citation and instantly see the full reference. Say goodbye to scrolling to the bottom of the page. Click once to browse the paper's abstract without ever leaving the current page.
• The Navigation Ball
  A compact, beautifully designed controller that replaces the traditional toolbar clutter:

-- Left-click to open the standard toolbar
-- Double-click to jump to the top of the document
-- Drag vertically to scroll freely without touching your mouse wheel
-- Drag horizontally to reveal the table of contents and jump to any section

• Split Mode
  Open two views of the same paper side by side for cross-referencing methods with results, or appendix with the text.
• Paper Trail system (Experimental):
  Tracks your trail from one paper to other through citation abstract preview jumps.
  Up to 8 trails can be saved, you can star trails to prevent them from being erased.
• Action Tool system:
  Search tool button at the top-right corner now becomes an action button.
  Drawing tool: Smooth line drawing support that can be embedded into exported PDFs.
  Crop Tool: You can crop any area on the paper and get a high resolution rendering image to add to your clipboard.
  You can customize the default action tool in the settings.
• Night Mode
  A true night mode that inverts and dims the entire page for late-night reading sessions.
• Search With Range
  Limit any search to a specific page range or document section, so you're never wading through irrelevant results.
• Persistent Annotations
  Highlights, underlines, and comments are saved directly into the PDF file. The annotations are fully compatible with other PDF readers and easy to share.
• Direct BibTeX Access
  Copy any citation format, including BibTeX, with a single click from the Cite button.
• Vim Keybindings
  Supports hjkl for scrolling, J/K for page navigation, and gg/G to jump to the top or bottom. More coverage coming soon.

  You can choose a wallpaper (upload or from url) and pick a color scheme for your navigation ball to make it feel like home.
