Cortogen Memory Extension - Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection The Cortogen Memory extension is designed to act as a long-term memory engine for your AI conversations. To provide this core functionality, we collect the following data:

Chat Transcripts: When the extension is active, we capture the text of your prompts and the AI's responses specifically from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
Account Information: Your email address is collected solely for authentication and to associate your memory database with your account.

1. How Your Data is Used The chat data we collect is securely transmitted to our backend servers, where it is summarized, vectorized, and stored. This allows the extension to automatically search your past conversations and inject relevant context into your future prompts. Your data is used exclusively to power your personal Cortogen memory engine.
2. Data Sharing and Third Parties
   No Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or chat transcripts to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
   API Processing: To generate summaries and embeddings, your chat snippets are temporarily processed through secure third-party LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI or Groq). We do not permit these API providers to use your data to train their global models.
3. User Control and Data Deletion You maintain full control over your data. You can pause memory capture at any time using the extension's toggle. You may also view, exclude, or permanently delete any captured memory—or your entire account and all associated data—directly from the Cortogen dashboard.
