- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12849453, 3 years agoSadly keeps obliterating any new bookmarks i ad, i have to login via a cpative portla every 6 hours and all xmarks EVER does is complain that it cant conencto to the server whent he inetrnet is chopped off befire i have to log into the portal again. then the minute its able to reocnnect it s give me an error about local bookmarks, and then sync form the same (un-updated) bookmarks from remote sync...completely obliterating any new bookmarks. Doesnt seem very clever in its sync logic. Luckily ive made local backups. Going to try anoher service, sadly this just doesnt work in my experience.

posted 3 years agoWhat you describe is due to bugs with the Firefox bookmark API, not xBrowserSync. I'm adding some partial fixes in the upcoming release that will make life easier in many circumstances, but until Mozilla's devs fix their broken browser API, not much I can do... Check the known issues (https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/wiki/Known-issues) for more info. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15301099, 3 years agoI was hoping this add-on would keep my 200+ bookmarks synced between all five of my computers, each with Firefox and Chrome installed. It works for awhile, but then unfortunately it loses about half of the bookmarks, forcing me to restore from backup. It seems to work very well in Chrome alone. I'll try it again in Firefox in the future.

posted 4 years agoHi there, just to let you know this issue (https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/issues/58) has been resolved for the upcoming v1.5.0 release.
I've been working hard to get all of the reported syncing issues resolved and am currently doing extensive testing to ensure that v1.5.0 is stable as a rock. If you'd like to check it out, you can get the beta here:
https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/releases/tag/v1.5.0beta - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15088474, 4 years agoI keep several levels of folders in my bookmarks. This extension completely scrambled my bookmarks. Still in the process of untangling them.

posted 4 years agoHi there, I'm really sorry for the issues yourself and others have had. This is due to bugs in the syncing code, as well as a bug in Firefox's bookmarks API.
I've been working hard to get all of these syncing issues resolved and have now fixed the known issues in dev, the upcoming v1.5.0 release will include these fixes. Firefox v69 resolves the bookmarks API issues which I've tested in Nightly and confirmed.
v1.5.0 with Firefox Nightly should resolve all syncing issues so please bear with me. Thanks for your understanding!! - Rated 5 out of 5by Daniel B.P., 4 years agoI had several issues with previous versions but I must admit this now works perfectly as advertised. The extension is stable and reliable.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14647243, 4 years agoGood concept to fill the big gap in cross browser bookmark synchronization, but fails to deliver a reliable solution at this time.
More often than not, the saving of a single bookmark triggers a catastrophic failure that requires a full reimport of all bookmarks - erasing whatever it was that had just been saved.
If you're going to try this service out, be sure you've backed up your bookmarks locally through the basic Firefox process first. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13628046, 4 years ago

Par contre impossible de synchroniser sur FireFox 64.0.2 installé sur Windows 7.

posted 4 years agoBonjour! Je suis désolé mais je ne parle pas français!
This error is due to a known issue in Firefox when attempting to enable an existing sync ID that contains bookmarks with a URL starting with "chrome://...". Apologies for the inconvenience, it will be fixed for the next release.
You can track the issue here: https://github.com/xbrowsersync/app/issues/58 - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14527258, 4 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by -, 4 years agoThank you. Why only bookmarks? They hardly change.. Would love history, passwords and everything else. Also how to delete them?
Developer response
posted 4 years agoSyncing of history and open tabs will come later, passwords in our opinion are better not synced (or if you must store them we recommend KeePass). You can delete your bookmarks using the native browser bookmark tools or in the xBrowserSync window by hovering over search results and clicking on the pen icon that appears on the right to edit the bookmark, then click the Delete button. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14511390, 4 years agosimilar one works fine with chrome, but this one has issue with firefox 64.0 on Ubuntu 18.04, the setup page showed and disappeared quickly, no way for me to enter encryption password.

posted 4 years agoHi there, another user with similar issues reported the following fix:
"I was recently having this issue on my laptop with Ubuntu 18.04, with this extension and bitwarden. after a little digging it seems it was a bug with gnome-shell and password fields. after updating packages and rebooting the problem is gone. sorry I don't have the links handy at the moment but try updating, close firefox and reboot."
