Firefox Multi-Account Containers by Mozilla Firefox

by Firefox user 13176119, 5 years agoThe idea is great, it worked great. It took me weeks to finetune everything and really think about what I would like to open in which container. Had a few problems with webshops opening in one container and the bank to pay in a different one. Also quite a few 'prove that you are who you say you are by clicking the link in your email' type of situations, which were opened in the wrong tabs. Everything in the end worked great! But then I had a problem with firefox and decided to refresh firefox. Normally not a problem, due to sync I have all my settings back within a few minutes. But every site was opening without containers. I waited and waited and waited and waited... Yeah, no link to sync. Bye bye weeks of work to get 12 containers work brilliantly.
Since one of the most important functions is completely missing... only 2* otherwise 5*

This brought me to a feature idea that would help me & maybe some other users also. It would be nice to set some sites as container exit points towards another container. A use case for this is having my email (Gmail) run in one container, but when I want to access a link from one email, I want it to switch to "No Container" afterwards - that way, I'm not identified by my Google account on other websites.

Let me know if either of these exist if I'm missing them! - Rated 3 out of 5by robisodd, 6 days agoPlease, please, PLEASE! Allow an option to set the default action (in the URL bar) to "open this site as [container]" and not "ALWAYS open this site as [container]"! I cannot use this extension without this option (I am aware it is available buried in submenus of the separate extension icon). It doesn't need to be the default, just an option. I have spent HOURS removing hundreds of websites from the default "ALWAYS open" setting; not to mention the dozens of billable hours fixing users' issues with this setting.

Container setup are not synced properly between devices, and when syncing with a Dutch computer I got all Dutch default containers mixed with my setup. After removing the extension, it just doesn't get removed completely. Rather frustrating!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18199950, 12 days agoWorks great, super useful. Only thing missing is switching places for the option "Open in new container tab" from tab menu and button "Always open this in a Container" from address bar. The former is used more frequently, yet it requires clicking on tab menu and localizing the command. The latter could go to tab menu, it's rarely used.
