- Rated 1 out of 5by trebory6, 25 days agoKept telling me "1 More Writing Issue Found" and hid it behind a paywall with no way for me to disable it.
What this means is on half of everything I end up typing, it ends up going orange as if I've made a typing error.
But I can't see it unless I pay.
If they just didn't make that orange, I'd be ok.
I'm not paying for something that literally annoys you until you pay for it, and I won't use something like this that won't let me disable or hide suggestions I can't view unless I pay.
Maybe I would have payed if it quietly and politely suggested there was another issue I could fix, but I refuse to pay for it when the developers use annoyance to try and get users to pay.
Uninstalled. - Rated 1 out of 5by Mercury, 2 months agoWill legitimately not work for me, no matter what I try. It tells me that I have not written enough (minimum of 5 characters) even when I have written hundreds of words, and it will not update at all. Completely useless.

posted a month agoPlease post to https://forum.languagetool.org, letting us know which site that happens on. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18428698, 2 months agoDon't bother unless you already plan on paying for it. This is bad if you're using it for free.
If you don't pay, it will sometimes say something to the effect of "one more writing error detected", but you can't get it to elaborate or remove this notification without paying. It's infuriating to the point that I couldn't continue using it. - Rated 1 out of 5by MERTENS LUC, 2 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by jam.may, 3 months agoKeeps automatically changing language on me. Very annoying and there's no option to change it back.

posted 3 months agoPlease send us more detailed feedback on the forum at https://forum.languagetool.org/. Generally, the language detection should work well once it has enough text (>15 characters or so). - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18474298, 3 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Nikita, 3 months agoThis is a privacy nightmare, so obviously "Recommended" by Mozilla.
Dear lord.. - Rated 1 out of 5by Sam, 4 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Grom, 4 months agoI guess it's useful if you're terrible at writing, and it's helped me fix a couple minor errors, but overall this tool is terrible. It recommends putting commas everywhere you could possibly think of, misses a ton of grammatical errors, and is generally not useful. The thing that drove me over the edge was when it would recognize "Dursley" and "Dursley's", but would correct "Dursleys" back to "Dursley's".
It's more of a nuisance than a help. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12228898, 5 months agoTürkçe neden yok? bu yüzden kullanamayacağım. :(
- Rated 1 out of 5by AH, 5 months agoNot very good at the Basic level. Hard core sales to upgrade to the paid level. I already use Grammarly.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Alonzo, 5 months agoWorks quite well, but the red warning message with supposedly further errors found, which you can only see in the premium version, makes the tool useless and confusing. Deleted.

posted 5 months agoThat's not quite correct. European Portuguese is available for spelling and grammar checking, but not for paraphrasing.- Rated 1 out of 5by Overflow8471, 5 months agoIt is sad that the add-on is no longer open source and does not make transparent what is read and transmitted to the server. Complete regression.

posted 5 months agoOur privacy policy at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/languagetool/privacy/ describes what is transferred to the servers. This is also linked in the add-on description and in the onboarding process during installation. - Rated 1 out of 5by Myrtle Dunbar, 6 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Andy, 6 months agoI'm so sad this add-on isn't working anymore. I've used this for over a year and it was incredible, even without accessing the paid tools. Today I starting working as usual, correcting some papers, and I saw the tool didn't catch very simple mistakes (one of the sentences was "I cook burger and pizza"). IDK what happened, but I'll be deleting the extention for now.

posted 6 months agoWe haven't changed the error detection logic recently. However, it's possible that some errors are not detected, but we're constantly improving the system. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14493762, 7 months agoPerfect!
If you like all the text you write sent to advertisers and shady third parties.
Just take a look at their privacy policy, easily the creepiest extension I've come across so far.
Can't understand how it's still in the "Recommended" section. Mozilla WTAF.Developer response
posted 7 months agoYou're probably confusing the add-on and the website. On the website, we use several common tools that almost everybody else uses, e.g. Google Analytics. You're of course free to call that "shady". The add-on doesn't use Google Analytics, and I'm not sure what you refer to as "shady third parties". - Rated 1 out of 5by Ron Gillis, 7 months agoI was not able to select British English, as used in Canada. Many different spellings.
