- by Artyom, 4 months agoRated 3 out of 5not very convenient ,you cannot select a folder of Wallpapers and set flexibly the mode change Wallpaper by time of day/week/month/ panel* bookmarks (take the example as Vivaldi and opera gx) is small and the publicity (put up) though this extension ,and of the rare updates. Thank you!
- by Woody100, 6 months agoRated 3 out of 5After using this for years there is a problem. The images are not displaying properly and are leaking from an adjacent tile. This seems to be an auto-reload problem as I can reload the image manually as it works fine.

posted a year agoHello,
Please contact me to my support email if the problem persist.
But in general this is a Firefox specific error that often disappears after restarting Firefox or whole PC.
If you can see it even after the restart, then I would suggest you to reinstall my add-on. But make sure to export your dials to a file first - from the Options page / Import backup tab (you can export also your thumbnails).

- by Firefox user 11478734, 2 years agoRated 3 out of 5Excellent, except compatibility issues with First Party Isolation.
The thumbnail images are not shown and not able to successfully refresh them.
When disabling First Party Isolation and restarting Firefox, then for 1 time images are shown. And then, again, there are no thumbnail images.
Windows 10, any Firefox edition.Developer response
posted 2 years agoHello,
Interesting... so it seems that the "First Party Isolation" will isolate whole add-on (not just the new tab) into a special container - so thumbnails needs to be created in both .
This is different from "Firefox Multi-Account Containers" which isolates only a tab.
Anyway, since whole add-on is running in in isolation, there is no way to access thumbnails from different "sandbox".
The only way to fix this would be to replace the IndexedDB database used for thumbnails (which is being isolated) and replace it with normal storage. However I would have to add "Unlimited storage" permission (because thumbnails and backups usually takes more than 5MB of storage).
This is a problem because ALL of my users will be prompted to agree with a new permission.
So this is really bad.
I can also see that it breaks the cloud synchronization which is using cookie - this is also very hard to fix.
Anyway - as you can see, there is no easy solution.
The only thing I could do is introduce some "Auto create all missing thumbnails" option that will help you create missing thumbnails when you enable/disable isolation.

posted 2 years agoHello,
You are not alone. Firefox has some issues recently and users are loosing all add-ons data, not just in my add-on. See for example this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1530660
But there is way to recover it even if you don't have backups. Firefox in version 66 migrated all add-ons data to a new storage and during this process they created a backup file - "storage.js.migrated".
You can use this file to restore your data, see this article:
https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2018/08/03/new-backend-for-storage-local-api/
After you located the file, you can actually directly import that file into my speed dial - just rename it to "xxx.group_speed_dial" and then import.
And lastly, maybe you Firefox just switched profiles. You see, Firefox 67 started to use separate profile for each installation - this is a good thing to prevent some serious issues, however for some users this actually caused "data loss" because their Firefox was suddenly using a new profile. But all you need to do is switch to a correct profile. See this article for more info:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/firefox-67-switching-to-empty-profiles-causing-data-loss-fears/

- by MatsSvensson, 2 years agoRated 3 out of 5Nice, but i wish it would just work like the original speed dial.
It keep opening an extra invisible window, how do I turn that off?
And the rules for rendering thumbs makes no sense at all.
Why are there separate settings for how its rendered when its reloaded and 2-3 various other ones that seem to be triggered at random?
Whatever you do to finally get it to look sharp, after a while it always ends up looking like a crap later.Developer response
posted 2 years agoHello,
The thumbnails generation is very complex process now. Sadly the API that was available before for the SpeedDial is not available anymore.
There are three options for generating thumbnails and each of them has some advantages and some disadvantages.
But the best results are from the background reload - which works in the invisible tab. These thumbnails should be sharp.
This method is by default used when you add a new dial (unless you use "Add this page to dial" from context menu on a page).
You can also use reload by visiting page which also yields good thumbnails and it works on any page.
I will try to simplify the options in near future for easier usage...
Also feel free to contact me directly on my support e-mail.

posted 2 years agoHello,
My add-on is localized to German, there should be no English words. Make sure you have German Firefox installed or install German language pack:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/deutsch-de-language-pack/?src=search
Please let me know to my support e-mail if it didn't help.

posted 3 years agoHello,
This seems like issue with your cookies. My add-on is using cookies to keep you logged in.
See the Firefox Options page (about:preferences) and on the tab "Privacy & Security" check the Cookies settings and also History.
If you set it up to Remember history and "Accept cookies and site data from websites (recommended)" with "Keep until - They expire" then it should work.
Also if you are using some tool (or add-on) to block cookies, make sure to add exception for domain "group-speed-dial.fastaddons.com".
Let me know to my support e-mail if this didn't helped.

Juraj Mäsiar - by Firefox user 13400788, 3 years agoRated 3 out of 5Been following this dial since it started. Great progress being made. Still a way to go before you dethrone FVD but I am hopeful that you will. A little more polish is required, also FVD import is not quite there yet. Keep going, I will keep checking back.

- by Thany, 3 years agoRated 3 out of 5I still need Ctrl+1-9 shortcuts.
More importantly, lately it's been REALLY slow sometimes when I go back (like with the back button) to a new tab, or close the last tab to cause a new tab to get opened. GSD might take several seconds to display the dials. Sometimes the dials show blank and are unresponsive. Somtimes GSD shows a completely empty page in an unresponsive tab.

posted 3 years agoHello,
Support for short-keys is added using a separate add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ctrl_groupspeeddial/
Multi-digits dialing can be then enabled in Options page / Short-keys.
The slow speed is most likely caused by some other add-on. There are known cases where this was due to "Ghostery" add-on or "Adblock Plus". You can try to use alternative add-ons like "uBlock" that should be faster and should not slow down other add-ons.
Displaying dials page should not take more than half a second even on the slowest PC!
