Diigo Web Collector - Capture and Annotate by Diigo Inc.

by emmadaiou28, 7 years agoI use Diigo mainly for simple bookmarking and tagging functions. The 'redesign' of the extension has made it nearly unusable even for that, and the add-on seems broken at times.
1) The sidebar was the most useful thing about it, and that's now gone. The only way to access bookmarks is to actually go to the website, making the add-on largely pointless (for my purposes) other than as a shortcut to create or edit bookmarks.
2) Just now, I had to bookmark and tag the same page FOUR TIMES, because every time I clicked 'save' it brought up a pop-up ad about upgrading to a paid Diigo feature (a feature unrelated to what I was currently doing, fyi). When I dismissed the pop-up, it obviously canceled the bookmark save function along with it each time. (This was using the keyboard shortcut to save a bookmark. I ultimately had to do it by selecting the function from the toolbar icon menu instead, which did not prompt the pop-up upon saving.)
3) When a page is bookmarked, a little bar shows in the top right corner with (theoretically) tools for annotation and whatnot. Only most of the time that bar is completely blank (broken). There is no way to dismiss it, but it often ends up blocking important parts of a webpage (such as a logout link).

- Rated 1 out of 5by Please Insert Pun, 2 months agoThe extension has stopped working on Firefox. I have been a major Diigo user for years and have a premium plan, but if the extension does not work on my preferred browser, I might have to look into changing what tool is use for web annotation.

Anne Le huérou - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16746023, 2 months agoDiigo does not answer priority support for premium customers - Diigo appears not to work any longer in Firefox. I have used diigo for many years.

- Rated 1 out of 5by alabarga, 3 months agoI use it a lot, but it does not work since latest update (v6.0.0.5resigned1), please, fix it!
- Rated 2 out of 5by CitrusLemon, 3 months agoI was a very satisfied (premium) user of this add-on for over 15 years.
However, in the last year, the experience has deteriorated: saving images does not always work, and searching for annotations from the web interface often returns no results, even though the searched text is present in an annotation.
With the latest release (6.0.0.5resigned1), the add-on has stopped working entirely. I contacted care@diigo.com to no avail. I, too, had to revert to the previous version. - Rated 2 out of 5by Coldblackice, 3 months agoEasily my most used addon, ever. Never gets new features, but it's fine since the real magic is its ability to highlight and notate any website, anywhere on the web, at any time.
Thankfully Diigo hasn't bloated it with junk or telemetry like other companies do, nor have they stripped out functionality like other companies do (cough Google cough).
The reason for 2-stars: the latest update (v6.0.0.5resigned1) has broken this addon. Once fixed, it's easily a 5-star addon. Til then, I had to uninstall and reinstall an older version in order for it to be usable again. - Rated 5 out of 5by David, 4 months ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Cody, 8 months agoI've used Diigo for years and transfered to a new computer. I had trouble logging in and saving. These are the steps I took:
1) Logged in at diigo.com
2) Downloaded through diigo.com link
3) Disabled enhanced tracking protection (unfortunately, the extension wouldn't work without doing this) - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12248567, 9 months agoI paid for premium. My tags aren't showing up in the tag management area. I've made multiple attempts to contact the company. The web app indicates I'm supposed to have premium support. I also tried on Twitter/X. Since the boomarklet says to rate the app, I'm posting here to see if they finally respond to me. I'll give it two stars because it's got so much potential, but this total un-responsiveness to paying customers is weird.
