ERION AI is a high-performance, context-aware browsing assistant built as a native Firefox Manifest V3 browser extension. It seamlessly blends conversational AI, smart multi-engine routing, real-time web page text analysis, and voice processing into a single, cohesive sidebar panel layout.

ERION AI includes a free daily usage tier for AI assistant features. Users can optionally pay for a premium upgrade subscription via PayPal to gain unlimited messaging tiers and priority access to smarter engine options.

This add-on requires payment, non-free services or software, or additional hardware.

Unlike standard web-based chatbots, ERION AI operates alongside the user's active browsing session. It allows users to dynamically query, summarize, and extract insights from any live webpage text with a single click, completely eliminating the friction of copying and pasting text across tabs.

・Clear & Transparent User Permissions
ERION AI uses a minimal, privacy-first permissions framework inside its manifest.json. Every permission has a distinct, necessary technical purpose:

1. storage
   What it does: Allows the extension to write and read data using the browser's isolated local storage sandbox.
   Why ERION AI needs it: It is used to generate and check a unique local device verification key (erion_device_fingerprint). It also securely caches local chat histories (erion_chats) right on the user's device, ensuring their past conversations load instantly without needing an external database login.
2. tabs & activeTab
   What it does: Grants temporary, secure access to the active browser tab when the user interacts with the extension.
   Why ERION AI needs it: This powers the "Summarize Page" feature. When a user clicks the button, the extension securely triggers a content to extract the readable paragraph text of the page they are looking at, passing it directly for a bullet-point summary.
3. Business Logic & Premium Monetization
   ERION AI features a fully functional access control barrier. Every time a message is dispatched, the backend cross-references the user's local fingerprint against their payment records.

If a free user exhausts their daily query threshold, the backend drops a LIMIT_REACHED exception.

The frontend smoothly catches this error and slides open a beautiful Upgrade Card Modal.

The modal automatically injects a customized Payment gateway link.

Gemini 1.5 Flash was chosen specifically for this engineering setup because of its incredible speed, high-efficiency token processing, and massive context window. This allows ERION AI to ingest long, text-heavy articles or document pages (up to 2,000 characters sliced natively in your content.js) and return snappy, highly accurate summaries instantly.

Multi-Engine Logic Switcher
The application features a frontend engine routing controller. Users can toggle between performance modes (like a highly responsive "Fast" engine or a deep-reasoning "Smart" engine). The choice is packed into the metadata payload, allowing your Supabase backend to route the prompt to the optimal model configuration dynamically.
