DocEdit is a lightweight yet powerful browser-based document editor designed for users who want a simple and efficient writing experience without installing additional software or plugins.

📄 Supported File Format

Currently, DocEdit only supports HTML documents for both input and output operations.

Other proprietary document formats

Note: Although direct support for formats like .docx is unavailable, you can still copy formatted text from applications such as Microsoft Word and paste it into DocEdit while preserving most styles and formatting.

💾 File Saving & Storage

Browser extensions do not have direct access to your computer’s file system. Because of this limitation, DocEdit uses the browser’s Download API to save files.
All exported documents are downloaded to your browser’s default download folder.
Change Download Location
If you'd like to save files somewhere else:

1. Open your browser settings
2. Navigate to Downloads
3. Change the default download directory

▶️ Getting Started

Once you open DocEdit for the first time, you'll see a blank editor with a toolbar at the top.

Basic Workflow

1. Type or paste your content into the editor
2. Format your document using the toolbar
3. Click File → Save
4. Your document will be downloaded as an HTML file

📌 Notes

Internet access is not required after the application loads
All editing happens locally in your browser
No external plugins or software are needed
