CalmWeb makes busy websites easier to use.

It gives you control over motion, autoplay, colour intensity, brightness, flashing media and loud audio. Settings can be applied globally or changed for individual websites.

Appearance

• Choose Dark, Light or System Default.
• Dark and Light modes change the appearance of websites.
• System Default only changes the extension panel and leaves websites unchanged.
• Adjust colour intensity with the saturation control.
• Reduce page brightness with a separate toggle and slider.

Motion and media

• Reduce animations, transitions and smooth scrolling.
• Stop videos and audio from playing automatically.
• Freeze visible animated GIFs.
• Dim the page when rapid brightness changes are detected in visible media.

Audio

• Set a maximum volume for video and audio.
• Reduce sudden loud peaks from supported Web Audio content.
• Enable or disable the limiter without changing its saved level.

Site controls

• Pause CalmWeb on every website with the global switch.
• Keep separate settings for individual websites.
• Restore saved site settings when CalmWeb is enabled again.
• Apply changes immediately without reloading the page.

Privacy

CalmWeb does not collect, sell or transmit personal information, browsing history, website content or usage data.

Settings and per-site preferences are stored locally by your browser. Page content is processed locally only when needed to apply the options you enable.
