Markdown Web Clipper converts web content into clean, portable Markdown. Highlight text on any page and export it with formatting intact, including headings, links, lists, tables, and images. If nothing is selected, it extracts the full article using Mozilla's Readability, skipping ads and navigation clutter.

Export as a .md file, copy to clipboard, or send directly to Obsidian, either through the zero-setup Obsidian URI or silently in the background via the Local REST API plugin. Every clip includes frontmatter with the title, source URL, and capture date, so your notes stay traceable. Use the right-click menu, the toolbar popup with an editable preview, or the Ctrl+Shift+Y shortcut.

Private by design: everything runs locally in your browser. No account, no servers, no data collection. The extension only touches a page when you clip from it.
