Organize GitHub Actions workflows into custom folders for better project organization
GitHub Actions Folder Organizer helps you tame cluttered workflow lists by organizing them into custom, collapsible folders. Perfect for projects with many workflows, this extension seamlessly integrates with GitHub's interface using a simple JSON configuration file. Your workflows stay organized, and you can toggle between folder view and the default GitHub layout anytime.
Key Features:
• Custom folder organization with a simple JSON config file in your repository
• Native GitHub styling that matches perfectly in both light and dark themes
• Works with public and private repositories using your existing GitHub session
• Per-repository toggle to enable or disable folder view independently
• Remembers which folders are expanded or collapsed across sessions
• Smart caching for better performance and reduced API calls
• Optional GitHub API token support for better rate limits (5,000/hour vs 60/hour)
• One-click config file creation button for repository maintainers
• Clean, minimal interface that doesn't interfere with GitHub's functionality
Setup is quick and easy. Create a .github/actions-folders.json file in your repository, define your folders and which workflows belong in each, then visit your Actions page. Workflows not assigned to any folder automatically appear in an Uncategorized section. The extension runs only on GitHub Actions pages, stores all data locally in your browser, and never sends information to external servers.
Perfect for development teams managing complex CI/CD pipelines, projects with multiple deployment environments, or anyone with more than 10 workflows who wants better organization. No subscriptions, no ads, no tracking.
