- Noté 1 sur 5par Yagoth, il y a 3 ans[Update]: This app was good but keeps going down hill. After 5+ years, enough is enough. UNINSTALLED. The backup/export buttons have now been removed preventing any kind of tab integrity.
[Old Review]: Lost all my tabs, no idea why. This kind of unreliability is a problem. I have had it happen before, but it it is very irritating. - Noté 1 sur 5par FaeGiN, il y a 3 ansWell after reading many reviews, which I strongly urge YOU to do before touching this, I went against my better judgement and thought Id install it and just give it a test run whilst making sure to back up anything I relied on OneTab to handle for me. So I am one of those guys who has anything from 101 tabs to 550 tabs open pretty much all of the time! Yes I know it seems dumb, hogs memory, slows firefox down, drains the system RAM over time...etc, etc, etc but thats what I do because I am a bit scatty and I so often am not finished with reading or going down that particular thought train and really want to continue with it at some point. And so I leave another tab open, planning to revisit. I do admit that my current tab count of 514 is a bit over stupid and I will be culling that number after I submit this review.
So what was my experience? It was not great I can tell you. It resembled what I had read about in manymreviews. In a nutshell: OneTab saved hundreds of tabs as advertised and then when restoring....well, it just didnt! it was as if I had asked it to restore a selection of random links out of the list of over 300 it had made. As if I'd asked it to randomly pick ANY of the links and restore them but only restore less than 50 , one time it reached towards 100 so I was becoming happier hehe. But not happy.
This is DANGEROUS and should come with a warning to expect data loss!!
As I said, I took precautions. I simply created (...or 'saved' I think I should call it, a ne??(w session which is just using the session manager to give me a back up of all of the tabs that were open before I did anything drastic like trust an addon to do what it promised and handle some tab urls and restore them when asked to. Luckily, session manager works great...so does firefox sync, which was my secondary backup I suppose cos I had just sync'd my open tabs and sent them to other firefox open on my other PC and my laptop!
Well dear reader, if there still are any at this point, I want to leave you with some predictable advice so, here goes..l
Please Dont Bother With This!
I dont think it is ready for Prime time. Not quite yet. Too unpredictable for now and too risky for your data to be handled by and trusted with.
If you must have a go then be smart: Do some backup like my method.
DON'T LOSE DATA
*longest review I ever did write - Noté 1 sur 5par ZoMaX, il y a 3 ansSuddenly all my tabs are gone and OneTab shows nothing but a blank page. Have tried reaching out to Devs but they dont respond
- Noté 1 sur 5par laugher, il y a 3 ansInstalled this with the hopes of managing the many tabs I have opened.
OneTab took all my tabs, converted it into a list that allowed me to easily review and delete the ones I no longer need.
However, when I tried to restore the clean list of tabs from OneTab back into FireFox, it only restored 5 tabs out of 84.
Buggy and cannot be relied upon if you want to cleanup your tabs. I have since deleted/uninstalled this extension. - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 16991052 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansWhen it works its great when things go wrong - things go very wrong.
Firefox crashed lost all links pushed to one tab. Requested assistance multiple time and never got a response.
This is the third time this has happened. I can no longer trust the plugin with saving data. - Noté 1 sur 5par n00b, il y a 3 ansI hit the OneTab icon accidentally and sent dozens of tabs moved into OneTab. So I hit the Restore All option but only 5 tabs restored.... The rest just vanished.
- Noté 1 sur 5par Muse, il y a 3 ansQuite dangerous to rely on OneTab for your "saved" pages! I lost TWICE in a year MANY of my saved tabs. use it at your own risk!!! Much better to be safe to use Bookmarks instead. Onetab is for light and occasional daily use. You have to ALWAYS worry whenever you do a firefox update and THINK to backup before you proceed... NOT the kind of easygoing addon that devs want you to believe.

- Noté 1 sur 5par yaoh, il y a 3 ansGreat idea, but when restoring the tabs by "Restore all tabs" only a part of the tabs was restored. Thus only unnecessary effort to find the tabs in the history again. If it would work reliably, it would be a great tool.

- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13139449 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansGreat App with Default Issues. The problem is that OneTab has the wrong default for when you restore one or all tabs in your browser. Instead of keeping your stored tabs for next time, OneTab amazingly by default deletes all those precious tabs from OneTab after you have restored them in your browser. So guess what... next time you try to restore your precious tabs you won't be able to find them. Come on OneTab Technical Team. Change your default please, to retain restored tabs (rather than deleting them). You know it makes sense.
- Noté 1 sur 5par Dobrawes, il y a 3 ansOnetab closed all (200+) my tabs without providing real solution to manage them. Restoring them resulted in lagging FF and loosing most of open tabs.
- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 15078879 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansWhen I click "Display OneTab" it never loads. I can't find any way to access my saved tabs.
- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 16825953 de Firefox, il y a 3 anslost an entire session a few times because of this extension - extremely unreliable and hence dangerous to use
- Noté 1 sur 5par Taboo, il y a 3 ansThird time I've used this add-on and yet again it has deleted months of multiple saved sessions.
How can this add-on be listed as "Recommended" by Mozilla when it is fatally destructive to users workflows because it is so unstable? It should be removed entirely until the creators fix this glaring failure.
I have saved hundreds of bookmarks in Firefox for over 10 years and they haven't randomly disappear, so why can't OneTab write an add-on fit for purpose? - Noté 1 sur 5par jagman, il y a 3 ansAbout every time you go to a new release of your browser, you take the chance ONETAB WILL LOSE EVERY ONE OF YOUR URL'S YOU GAVE THEM AS THERE IS NO RECOVER process if you have to create a new "profile". There is NO BACKUP. "EXPORTING" them is no protection as they do not let you recover, tell you where they are stored.... Since I used to use it, about every year or two, I lose them all due to no backup, etc. JUST DO NOT DEPEND ON ONE TAB to take care of them. Find another way. In a perfect world, they might be ok.

Sync open or delete not work too.

Github organization - One Tab is NULL. - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 16670192 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansI decided to use OneTab and it seemed to word, BUT when I went to open the tabs they were NOT THERE!
I would not this software unless you want to LOOSE all your tabs! - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13839236 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansYour plugin killed almost all my tabs. I had about 130. After click on link 'Restore all' were restored only 4. Then I'm tried to restore them all with Ctrl+Shift+T it helped me to restore another 20 tabs. And that's all. OneTab by default delete it history after 'restore' tabs as you know. I'm furious....
- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14398247 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansTheir description:
"Information about your tabs is never transmitted.
...except with the 'share as a web page' feature.
...oh, and with Google."
Yeah I can totally see how "information about my tabs is never transmitted", because as we all know, sharing things with Google is as good as not sharing them at all.
Come on guys, Google will only know exactly which sites you visit. Not which specific file you're looking at. Don't be so picky.
What a load of absolute BS. - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14777293 de Firefox, il y a 3 ans
- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 15742414 de Firefox, il y a 3 ansThe default behaviour of sharing tab history is clearly a glaring oversight of the team. Intentionally infringing on privacy or not, the feature is obviously a privacy issue that needs to be addressed.
@dev-team,
1. can users who've perhaps unwittingly shared their tab history delete them if they lose access to the computer that they used to create them?
2. can users easily see a list of all the tab lists they've shared?
3. do the shared links ever expire? Is there a default expiry?
