Although it does block images, as it says. I was looking for an app that block's individual images. For example, I browse a site that has one particular unwanted image that advertises but is not detected by adblock plus. I find that adblock only block's images linked by a url. image block kills all images on the page, even the one's I am browsing.

Simple yet effective. Useful in corporate environments... thank you very much Hemant!
The images are gone forever Puntuado con 1 de 5 estrellas
I have the latest version of Mozilla Firefox and after I tried this add-on, my images were completely gone - even when I disabled this add-on, deleted it, restarted my PC.
I installed it again and tried to delete again, didn't help.
I ended up refreshing Mozilla, so all my add-ons, themes, etc. are lost now. God bless the Firefox Devs for saving at least bookmarks, journal and tabs.
Thank you very much. I only wanted to have a convinient tool to turn it on the sites which are loaded with unnecessary photos and turn it off, when I'm actually googling PICTURES.
Not happy at all. Sorry.
It is such a amazing addon that i need it Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

What's wrong? Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas
I was trying to help the dev to fix a problem but my review was gone! What's wrong?Este usuario tiene una valoración anterior de este complemento.
Same problem for me!
My reply to your review doesn't seem to appear as well. Anyway, I did get your message through my site comments section. I'll work to fix the bug you have pointed in the next release. Thanks
Very spartan, but better than nothing Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas
Either all images load, or no images load. A toolbar button toggles the "load images" state. Basically it's Firefox's old "load images automatically" preference, with a button.
If you want to see one image, you can click the toolbar button and reload the page to load all of the images on that page, then click the toolbar button again to continue blocking images.
Update: "Simple Image Blocker" does exactly the same thing, but doesn't require you to restart Firefox to install/enable/disable it, so I'm uninstalling "Image Block".
What you have pointed out is actually the intended behavior for this addon. Although, it does a little more than toggling the "Load images automatically" config option.
I've deliberately kept the scripting to a bare minimum to ensure negligible load on the host CPU. A lot of people are using firefox mobile devices. A heavily scripted addon (with possibly more features) would require more hardware resources, which would in-turn lead to other problems. The most critical of these would be the battery running out faster!
The toolbar button can be moved! Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas
- The toolbar button can be moved!
- The developer listens to the users.
- Images are blocked which other add-ons do not currently block due to a Firefox bug.
- Some embedded images are hidden.
- When clicked, the status of the toolbar button is not updated in other Firefox windows. One window will show that images are enabled while another window shows the opposite. Moving the button to the menu popup area makes matters worse, since new windows always begin with the button showing that images are enabled. Also in the menu popup, the button will sometimes continue showing that images are enabled while the text tooltip indicates the true status.
- Embedded images are displayed in Google search results, such as YouTube video thumbnails.
- Some images on Amazon (embedded) and Wikipedia (not embedded) appear very briefly before being hidden. The external Wikipedia image behavior may be the result of Firefox bug 1196784, which should be fixed in version 48.
To the developer: Firefox bug 331257 was reported in 2006 and remains open. It lists some of the many reasons people may wish to hide embedded images. I hope reading them will fully convince you that hiding them is the correct decision. Thank you for continuing to support this important add-on!
Thanks for a detailed review! I'll fix the multi-window bug in the next update. I'll also look into the firefox bug indicated.
Mostly works Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas
Simple and mostly effective but I'm still seeing images on some sites, like amazon.com.
back to working perfectly! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas
somehow manages to kill even on-the-fly generated images and impossible-to-block sites like the guardian! (using in Windows)
NB users experiencing problems should note: if disabling or uninstalling, you have to switch it to show images before doing so, not leave blocked then disable (at least in previous versions) I particularly like that this addon does not automatically reload a page every time you change permissions, as i use it to cope with poor bandwidth! Highly recommend for this

Could you tell me what exactly was the problem? Also can you try the new version which has some compatibility fixes
"Immobile" toolbar button is an annoyance Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas
Yes it's true what reviewer ander already said below. I wanted to adjust urlbar/search bar widths, and THIS buttion was always in the way. So I had to uninstall (!) the add-on to be able to get rid of the icon in my Navigation Bar again. Why, if there is one thing I hate, it's whenever buttons/icons seem to be put in concrete.
Oh, especially for @James , reviewer from last year's December: you CAN do somethig about it. If the tool ever messes up your setting of images displayed/hidden once uninstalled, look at option permissions.default.image in about:config. A "2" will mean it's disabled. Changing it to a "1" will allow images to get displayed again. Voila!
Toolbar button can be moved now
Fixed in the new version
Для медленного интернета Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas
Please try the new version and let me know how it is
Don't Get This Add On Puntuado con 1 de 5 estrellas
Once you install this you might end up having to keep it installed because once you uninstall it all images you see on the browser will not show up. So you either have to reinstall FF(if you're going that route I suggest getting the MozBackup add on to save your history, bookmarks, etc)or reinstall this app to get the images back and search for a way to uninstall this without having to reinstall FF.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (2.1.1-signed).
Great, with one annoyance Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas
This does just what it says—very helpful! I like its simplicity—no options to fuss over, no presumptuous keyboard shortcuts, no auto-reloading of pages. (There are times when you don't want to reload immediately, and pressing F5 is easy enough.)
The only annoyance is that, unlike every other FF extension I've ever used over 20-odd years, this one won't let you move its toolbar button. From what I know about coding, the developer must've deliberately implemented this.
Why? People like to organize their toolbars—e.g. to put their most-used buttons closer to center, to group related buttons. Perhaps our esteemed developer has a control issue or two?
Please try the new verison
Was done for compatibility... as mentioned in the new description. But I do like your comment "our esteemed developer has a control issue or two" :p
Ineffective on Wikipedia and Google Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas
While this extension works on many sites, it fails on two of the biggest ones, Wikipedia and Google.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (2.1.1-signed).
Added support for images embedded in data
The functionality you are looking for has been added... you can read more about why I left it out earlier in the description of the new version
Won't move, won't disable/delete & only works on some sites... Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas
As has been noted in other reviews:
This extension's icon won't allow itself to be moved from the right most end of the tool bar thus pushing the dreadful menu icon out of the corner where it belongs.
I stopped using it because it wouldn't work on so many sites. Once in a while when a site doesn't have images I'll discover that it was accidentally turned on.
My personal gripe:
This extension won't uninstall, even if I reinstall it and try again.
AVOID this extension at all costs! There are other extensions that do the same thing with fewer headaches!
Please try the new verison
Cant say why you were unable to uninstall... that has nothing to do with the extension. However you can try the new version where rest of the issues mentioned have been fixed

What a disaster Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas
Tried it, didn't work on several sites [huffingtonpost etc.], so uninstalled. Then the fun began. FF wouldn't show images at all. So had to uninstall it, and painstakingly reinstall all my extensions. ARG!Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (2.1.1-signed).
Please try the new verison
The "several sites" issue has been fixed now. Apologies that you had to reinstall all your extensions... However just switching back to "Show Images" mode before uninstalling would have done the trick
