- Rated 3 out of 5by D4ngrs, a year agoUsing it for a long long time. Sadly, since the last update and as mentioned by others, I have to disable and enable it again everytime I start my browser, otherwise it's not working.
After doing so, it will work until you fully close the browser.
With fixing this, I'll give it a full 5-Star because it's just so usefull. - Rated 3 out of 5by Andralon, a year agoOct/23
Every time I start the browser I have to disable and then re-enable the add on, otherwise the icon in the task bar is non responsive. This was not happening when I installed the addon.

Edit:
The problem mentioned above is still not fixed.
Additionally:
Now the enabled option "Auto expand video description box" lets the screen jump to the expanded description box instead of staying focused on the video.
Still usable. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18133188, a year ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17141374, a year agoMy default resolution is 1080p, I want all videos to be played by default in 1080p, even when I watch a individual video in 1440p or 2160p, I want videos watched after that to default to 1080p, but this add-on is not performing that function. When I play a video in 1440p or 2160p, all the videos I play after that also play in 1440p or 2160p.Very disappointing.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Greg Palmer, a year agoThis has worked for me in the past with intermittent issues setting the playback speed. The September update completely broke it for me. I am using this with Firefox on Android.
- Rated 1 out of 5by IG, a year agoOn mobile it's awkward, you need to click and scroll 3 times to press the add-on button, it's less without the extension in YouTube.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Kougeru, a year agoReduced from 5 to 3 stars due to recent issues. Setting to 8k doesn't seem to do anything if the video is not 8k. Instead of just loading the next highest, it defaults to 720p for some reason. Setting to 4k does not have this problem. Setting to 4k will load videos at 1440p or 1080p if 4k is not available.
Needs to add support for "Premium" quality. YT Premium quality loads videos in vp9 at literally 3x~ the bitrate of regular 1080p. In the cases where Premium is available, non-premium is in AV1 at less than 1 Mbps. - Rated 3 out of 5by Nathan Gamble, a year agoThis addon is extremely useful, but has recently started having significant problems which make it much less usable.
About a week ago, the youtube HD options stopped appearing when I click on the icon in my Firefox toolbar, until I go to the addons manager and turn the addon off and then turn it on again.
Can this issue be explained or fixed? - Rated 1 out of 5by Whatnah78, a year agoThis extension no longer works!!!! No sure what broke it but no matter what I do I cannot get it to work. Some days it would work but then after closing Firefox then opening back up again it would just be broken...
- Rated 1 out of 5by Marian, a year agoDoesn't work on Firefox Android (even before the September 23 update)
- Rated 1 out of 5by MarsSeed, a year agoDoesn't do anything on Firefox Android after the latest update of this addon.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Viacheslav, a year agoBefore September 2023 this extension worked a most of time normally (but occasionally i saw YouTube in wrong resolution - i closed Firefox and stopped it forcefully via operating system settings and started again - the extension worked again). After a middle of September the extension totally not working. When i open Firefox menu and Extensions submenu and tap to YouTube High Definition extension - nothing opens! Reinstall extension did not help, reinstall Firefox, reboot and reinstall Firefox - did not help (Google Pixel 4a, Android 13)
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15476681, a year agoPartially stopped working on all of my devices about 1-2 weeks ago. Settings do not show up when clicked on the icon in toolbar. Speed setting only gets applied if set to 2x. Doesn't work with 1.25x or 1.5x. Quality settings is also broken. Video Subtitles set to "on" doesn't seem to work either. Settings used to apply immediately after the change, now I need to refresh the page.
It still works just fine with 109.0.0 version. I had to go to the add-on page, click on "See all versions" and install it. In settings of the addon I disable the update feature to keep it at this version.
Keeping 2 stars until a fixed new version gets released. - Rated 1 out of 5by Justin Baits, a year agoThe last update broke a lot of functionality. Defaulting to 1.5x playback speed does not work. Quality settings are inconsistent. Used to be great but no longer does the things it should.
