Video DownloadHelper is a very useful tool for my needs, and I highly recommend it. There are a few situations where I can’t always download videos—I’m not sure why. That’s why I’m giving it only 4 stars.

This has been amazing for years, but now they have removed all traces of the desktop application from the website so on my new device i can no longer download videos, i am no longer prompted to download the application needed for the extension and the website is missing downloads.

Been able to download 98% of websites, multiple video file formats, sometimes it seems like there is a frame rate mismatch between video downloaded & original source. And being forced to pay to clear the watermark at certain videos could be improved on.
Overall, really glad with the addon.

Pretty decent addon. I use it to download any batch of videos i can't download normally, so I'd say it's pretty versitile.

Now we can no longer choose a download directory other than the browser's. (The subdirectory option does not work.)

Works a lot better after the latest update and it is considerably faster.

This is the most effective video downloader I've tried. I would give it 5 stars, but the elimination of the companion program is a bad thing. The problem is the Firefox disallowed extensions to save files wherever uses wished some years ago, so a program by the author was necessary to complete a save in the regular way. Without this, one has to go to a pre-chosen location and move the file to ones preferred location for it. Yes, one can use the extension to open the Downloads folder and move the file, but that's more work than I want to do. Still, I understand and this is more than I've gotten for free in a while, so kudos to the developer.

At least, a good YouTube downloader, while others can't do the same, as the actual code changes in YouTube seem having blocked any try to download anything with most of known downloader online and standalone tools

Amazing add-on that seems to just work. i used the free version for ages but decided to pay for it a couple months back and its been worth every penny. can highly recommend it.
Only slight gripe is that you cant control download location more precisely/outside the default browser download directory, which im pretty sure is a restriction all extensions have. but this extension requires a companion app with broader host access, so why cant you have more granular control over download location?

Schade nur das man für Musik keine Vorschaubilder für die Dateien erstellt bekommt, bei Videos ist das kein Problem. Deshalb "nur" 4 von 5 Sternen - sobald man für Musik ebenfalls Vorschaubilder (Thumpnails) erstellen kann und somit keine "Gesichtslosen" mp3 erhält 5 Sterne. :-)
