- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18462017, 6 months agoThis is not a recent problem, but when I try to download an image with very large dimensions (for example 720x14850) with the Save webP as PNG or JPEG option, it only downloads part of the image (720x8190) and the rest (the lower part of the image) is transparent

posted 6 months agoThank you for this report. I believe Firefox does have *some* limit on the size of an image it will draw on or extract from an HTML canvas (which is how the conversion is done). Still, 8190 seems too short, since my test image is 720x22000 and that one works fine when I open it stand-alone in a tab.
When you are saving the image in its original page, I wonder whether a style rule can affect the height? Maybe you can send me an example URL of where the problem occurs, either in a new issue at https://github.com/jscher2000/Save-webP-as-extension/issues/ or by email at jscher2000@outlook.com. - Rated 3 out of 5by Kis Albert, 2 years agoPlease add option to show bar for webp images only, I don't need this app for other images.

posted 2 years agoHi, if you click the "gear" button on the info bar, you can find that option in the "Auto-close and Auto-open" section -- check the box in the parentheses:
[x] Open bar automatically on stand-alone web images ([x] image/webp and image/avif only)
I thought that was the default. [update 3/27/2023: version 1.3.3 sets that as the default, but this is not retroactive to existing installations if you have customized any settings already] - Rated 3 out of 5by Eschatological, 2 years ago

posted 2 years agoFor best results with animated images, try using the "IE 11" button. That will re-request the original URL for the image as a dumb browser incompatible with WebP. That doesn't work on all sites, but it's worth a try.
If you are noticing that a specific site doesn't work with the "IE 11" button, could you share a link? You can send it by email jscher2000@outlook.com or create an issue at https://github.com/jscher2000/Save-webP-as-extension/issues. Thanks. - Rated 3 out of 5by PeterPiper441, 2 years agoIt recently stopped working, but it was good while it lasted.

posted 2 years agoSorry to hear about that. This add-on doesn't have a feature to delete saved images, but the images are handled as downloads and Firefox itself has a feature to delete downloaded files. The way that works is to right-click an item on the download history list and click Delete -- if multiple downloads are selected, all of the files for the selected items will be deleted. If the files weren't deleted through that feature, perhaps they are in the Windows Recycle Bin (if you run windows) or your system's equivalent. If not, you could try "unerase" software like https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16338714, 4 years ago
