- by ethos, 8 months agoRated 5 out of 5It is really frustrating that I've tried many times to install the Host Application, strictly following your instructions but failed every time. Could you kindly provide a video demo? Besides, does the Uniquify function means I can append new text to the original file? Thank you and best regards!

Настроил заново, всё работает.
P.S.
Оказывается теперь в файле "storage-sync-v2.sqlite-wal" хранятся настройки приложений, и данного в том числе. Добавить его в исключения в программах-чистильщиках. - by DiverSant, a year agoRated 5 out of 5

However:
The add-on does nothing on its addons.mozilla.org page.
It just fails without an error message.
IMHO, this is significant, because many people will test the add-on immediately after installing it.
Suggestion:
If the user is currently on a website where the add-on doesn't work:
Please show an error message when the user clicks on the context menu entry, or remove / gray out the context menu entry.
This add-on grays out its icon and shows the tooltip "Save Page WE - cannot be use with this page" on any addons.mozilla.org page:

- by Planet Nine, 3 years agoRated 5 out of 5I had some trouble figuring out how to get it to work in Firefox Quantum at first, but after reinstalling it, the extension seems to function nicely. The icon in the top right corner of the screen doesn't do anything (unless I'm not understanding something about its purpose), but that doesn't matter so much to me because I find using the context menu more convenient anyway. This extension is very handy and extremely useful whenever I want to save text on the fly. I've used it extensively in previous versions of Firefox, and I'm glad to see that you have put work into making it available in Quantum.

- by Dima, 3 years agoRated 5 out of 5On Windows 10 64-bit 1709, Firefox 57.0.4 this add-on does not work. When I right-click on the selected text and chose "Save text to file" all I get is a pop-up that informs me that text has been saved. Where??? In the add-on preferences i have checked "Show directory selection dialog", but this option does not work. I do not get directory selection, just a fake pop-pup. The file is not getting saved in Downloads directory in Windows 10 as a picture shows. It is going to never-never, if at all.
Update: to make it work I had choose "Uniquify" in the "If file exists" dropdown dialog box. Now it does exactly as it says. Thanks. - by FIBER0PTIC, 3 years agoRated 5 out of 5I have used this addon for months, very useful to have for fast saving. Easy and light weight. Thank you for keeping this add free.

Still a useful tool, however, it would be useful if the "append" to text was added as a feature. Also, when the url is added, the content should start in a new paragraph.

This rating is for the version 2.7.3. This version has features where I can customise a lot of stuff like shortcut keys, file format, date format, etc. The only reason why I haven't updated to version 57 of firefox is that many of the super productive add-ons I use on a regular basis haven't been updated. Of all the addons, I love this text clipping tool (i.e. v. 2.7.3), and I fail to understand why v 3.0 lacks all of the above features. Until then I will continue to use the previous version.Developer response
posted 3 years agoThe reason v3.0 does not contain the same features as v2.7.3 is that Firefox changed its internal addon API and removed a lot of features, preventing developers to use them anymore.
So this was a change forced on addon developers by Firefox, hence why you mention many other addons have not updated, probably because their functionality is no longer possible with latest Firefox. - by Findhead, 3 years agoRated 5 out of 5
