Using the most recent version of Foxyproxy I can say that I really do appreciate the developer's time to make significant improvements, for instance the new Foxyproxy is clearer and much easier now to add proxies to the interface. Overall I would recommend closer investigation for this advanced proxy management application, and do have some improvement suggestions, but overall, Foxyproxy is not bad.

easy to use, works great, and so far no problems

Hmm. Doesn't work at all. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Causes an error when opening Firefox either using the standard shortcut, or internet link shortcuts I created for easy access to pages I visit most, and in links within email messages. Browser still opens and the page still comes up, but not before it shows an error about the link not being able to be found. When I uninstalled FoxyProxy, the problem disappeared, so, it's obviously some bug in the program. Also, I have tried setting this up to use 5 different Proxy sites, and each time I totally lose the internet. I'm not so sure this program is useful, as most proxy sites are either over-used, or just plain inaccessible.

i have a trouble to this mod about how to remove "Use proxies based on their pre-defined patterns and priorities" from cycle click. because i just want to use a simple click when change my proxy, i'm very puzzled that there is a "Use proxies...." so that i have to click it twice or more. i can't understand what this setting means exactly, i think maybe it will use all proxies when the site is included their templates. but you know, i can't find a simple method to add a site to a template, and i'm a chinese user there are many many site blocked by our gfw so that i can't add them one by one. please tell me a method to remove "Use proxies...." from cycle or a simple way to add a site to a template. "autoadd" will not be useful because some site also has been blocked by DNS so that i need use the dns from foxproxy. thanks a lot.

Major security hole! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This thing leaks DNS queries to your local server! Start a local SOCKS5 proxy, configure foxyproxy to use it. Then startup wireshark, configure the filter to only show ip.src=={LOCALip} and dns and watch your DNS queries submitted to the corporate DNS, COMPLETELY ignoring the socks5 settings! Horrible.

Fixed in version 2.16

Hi,

This is fixed in FoxyProxy Standard version 2.16, FoxyProxy Basic 1.3, and FoxyProxy Plus 3.3. Just check "Use this proxy for all DNS lookups". See screenshot: http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/images/screenshots/2.17/proxy-settings.png.

DNS leak in FF3.5.3 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Perhaps due to changes in FF3.5, DNS leaks occur because FoxyProxy selects the proxy for the http request and then switches back to the previous proxy (or none). This also occurs in the basic FProxy version.

To avoid leaks you must use a sock proxy and check the correct global FPoxy option. The popular ultrasurf proxy is not a sock proxy. You have to use a simple proxy switch like Multiproxy switch.

Thanks, would be great to add the ability to download a list of proxies, and automatically in the process of their rattling on performance.

This is a great extension! Works perfect, and the UI is very well done. One minor improvement suggestion: When showing only the status bar icon without text, it would be nice if the text could be provided as tooltip.

EXCELLENT! Right now I'm using FoxyProxy with Easy-Hide-IP, and it works perfect. My experience (with Tor) was worse; it's failed on "loading network status".

This is an update on my earlier post.
I couldn't install FoxyProxy to Firefox because I already had it installed, the problem was that i had it "disabled". I've now enabled it and it is working perfectly. I want to make it clear that the mistake was mine and it had nothing to do with the add-on. I also want to add that FoxyProxy is my favorite add-on for dealing with proxies and I haven't found any other add-on that can do what FoxyProxy does as EASILY as FoxyProxy does it. You just need to find a good tutorial; try looking for one in FoxyProxy's homepage.

AWESOME addon, I love it. The T-bird plugin needs some work (mostly in the url pattern section), but either way, it's one of the most useful tools I have, I can't get my job done without it!

Great little proggie Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Installed without a hitch and runs the same way. Took me about ten minutes to figure out how to use it. Many of the features are a bit too involved for me. Yet the basic proxy functions make this program well worth using. Thank you, Mr. Jung. :)

Great add-on, I use it all the time! I'm a little disappointed that there is a for-profit version, seeing as Firefox is part of the open source world and frowns upon things like that... But otherwise I like it.

I find this an excellent add on. One feature I would like to see however is a configuration based on my IP address. I use my laptop at home as well as in the office and while I need to use proxy servers in the office I keep having to turn them off at home.

FoxyProxy Plus

Hi,

FoxyProxy Plus switches proxies based on IP address. You can get it at http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/fpplus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It really works. Though there's an upgrade version where you have to buy it. The simple version alone helps me to go to the pages I want more efficiently and speedy.

I also like the pattern setting where Foxy Proxy automatically detects which proxy to use according ro web sites. Simple add-on but it rocks!

Good job and I highly recommend it!
