StickLy — Privacy Policy

StickLy does not collect anything. Your notes, checklists, tasks, reminders, images and settings are stored by your browser, on your device. The extension makes no network requests, so there is nowhere for your writing to go.
What StickLy stores, and where

Notes, tasks, reminders and images: in your browser's own database (IndexedDB) on this device.
Settings and the copy of your stuck notes that web pages need: in extension storage on this device.
Nothing is uploaded, synced, backed up to us, or shared between your devices. There is no account.


What StickLy does on the web pages you visit

StickLy adds a small script to pages so that two features can work: the Save to note button that appears when you select text, and your stuck notes floating above the page.

It reads your selected text only to offer the button, and it keeps that text only if you choose to save it.
It does not read the rest of the page, does not touch password fields, and does not record which pages you visit.
Stuck notes are drawn in a sealed layer, so scripts on the page cannot read what you wrote in them.
Images inside content you paste from the web are removed rather than downloaded, so those servers never learn you were there.


Backups

Exporting creates an ordinary file on your computer. It is not encrypted and it is not sent anywhere. It contains everything in StickLy, so keep it somewhere private. Restoring reads the file on your device.
StickLy Pro keys

Paid features are unlocked by a key you paste in. The key is checked inside your browser against a public key built into StickLy. Nothing is sent to us when you unlock, and unlocking works without an internet connection. We cannot tell whether, where, or how often you use StickLy.
If you buy StickLy Pro

Payment is handled by Paddle, who act as the seller. They collect your email address and payment details under their own privacy policy; we never see your card.

From the order we receive your email address, which is written into your key so it can be shown back to you in StickLy. We keep a record of your order so we can send your key again if you lose it. We do not use your address for marketing and we do not pass it on.
Children

StickLy is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Uninstalling

Removing StickLy deletes its data from your browser. That cannot be undone, so export a backup first if you want to keep anything.
Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what StickLy stores would also be described in the extension's release notes.
