MD4A4H — Markdown-for-Agents for Humans

Cloudflare’s Markdown-for-Agents gives machines a clean text/markdown version of a page. MD4A4H brings that same idea to you: less noise, less HTML bloat, more reading.

What it does

When you visit a site that supports Markdown-for-Agents, MD4A4H shows whether Markdown is available, then lets you toggle between the normal HTML page and a distraction-free reader built from the site’s Markdown response. No copy-paste, no third-party reader service—your browser asks the same URL with Accept: text/markdown and renders the result locally.

Why use it

Read the article, not the chrome — fewer ads, sidebars, and layout wrappers when the publisher serves Markdown
One-click toggle — switch HTML ↔ Markdown per tab from the toolbar popup
Works where it’s supported — Cloudflare blog, developers docs, radar, and other hosts that advertise Markdown (with live checks for new sites)
Lighter pages — Markdown is typically much smaller than full HTML (useful for humans and for tools)
Privacy-first — no account, no analytics, no Ember backend; preferences and capability cache stay on your device
How to try it

Install MD4A4H and pin it to your toolbar
Open a supported site (e.g. blog.cloudflare.com or developers.cloudflare.com)
Click the icon — if you see Markdown available, choose Markdown
Switch back to HTML anytime

Permissions

MD4A4H needs broad host access because Markdown-capable sites aren’t limited to one domain. It only talks to the site you’re already viewing when you use the extension—never to a separate MD4A4H server.
