# jstardict
Lookup stardict format dictionarys in browser by selecting text in webpage.

To look up with this add-on, first, you have to prepare your own dict files,
and load them into this add-on in the option page.
jstardict work offline totally.
it does not track or telemetry anything.

## behavior
In webpage, jstardict inject itself in the 2 different ways,
**global** or **next n tabs after popup**.

- Global: select text in any website will show up a popup button.
this is default, and user need to reload the page after intall or change
to this mode.

- Next n tabs after popup: select text will show up a popup button
after user click jstardict button in toolbox, and the next n tabs
after click the button.

To popup, jstardict can react to **text selection** or **copy**.

- select: look up button will show up when any text get selected.
click it make jstardict to look up.

- copy: look up button will not show up. However, if any text get copy,
jstardict will look up it without show up the button. This work well
on mobile devices.

## permission
It is recommanded to allow this add-on to **Access your data for all websites** ,
or you may need to allow it everytime you want to use this
add-on in a new website.

you can grant this in **permission** tab of the option page.
