So, this extension is pretty cool! There are a couple recommendations I have though that I think would make this the best extension for image search you could possibly download.

1. Add SauceNAO
2. Add IQDB
3. Also, allow listing more than one search engine in the context menu when right clicking. So for example, if you right click, you're not limited to one search engine, you can select from several.
4. Rename the extension to Image Reverse Search (having correct capitalization makes it look much more professional)!

If the dev could do that, it'd be one hell of an extension! Keep it up!

Thank you for your review! v2.1.2 is undergoing review and fixes the title and adds SauceNAO and IQDB.

To answer point 3: I'll see what I can do, it's on my todo!

UPDATE: You can now choose more than one search engine!

    Tried it Feb. 2025 with jpg's from my pc opened into Firefox, hoping it would invoke google lens. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work at all on images from the pc; all search engines respond something like Oops or "couldn't upload image". Hoping there's an improvement available...

    This won't work, this add-on is explicitly designed for images on the web because it needs to access public URLs.

    Have been using this addon for a few years now, can't recommend it enough! Thank you Brawl!

    The only thing that could make it better is if it didn't switch to the new tab when searching, but not sure if that is possible with addons.

    Edit: Dev replied saying feature already existed, making it better! The options are tricky to find with extensions.

    Check the addon options, there is "Open in background" (sorry for the late answer!)

    EDIT 2: In the newest version you can now click the extension button to open the options. Should be easier to find now.

    Stopped working on 7/20/23. Opens a blank page. Used to be a favorite tool.

    Fantastic. Open source, no permissions needed, can search multiple providers (Yandex is actually pretty good!).

    It was a little hard for me to find the settings. You have to go to Firefox' extensions settings, and on the Reverse Image Search details page (you can also get here directly from the extension's own icon, via the "Manage Extension" link), you click the three dots icon to the right of the on/off toggle button and there's a link to the the preferences.

    checkboxes missing on my end for picking search engines. has this been encountered & replicated before?

    Sorry, Mozilla forced me to release a new version with an incompatible Bootstrap framework and now the checkboxes are missing - I didn't look into it but they threatened to remove the addon if don't replace the version. I will try to fix it, meanwhile install v3.4.1 from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/image-reverse-search/versions/

    EDIT: I just submitted v3.4.3, this will fix it. Thanks for the hint!

    I've gotten multiple reports about this but I and multiple people cannot reproduce this, sorry. This is an issue at Google, not with the addon and nothing that I can fix.

    [EDIT] I pushed an update that changes the Google URL to Google Lens.
