Whispermarks is a bookmark manager built like a password manager. Your bookmarks are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM before they ever reach a server. Only you can read them - not us, not your cloud provider, not anyone who breaches the database.

WHY WHISPERMARKS?

Browser bookmarks are not in your control. Sync services may encrypt in transit, but you don't hold the keys. Your browsing interests become someone else's data. And your bookmarks are locked to one browser.

Whispermarks fixes all of that. A 12-word recovery phrase is your root of trust. The server is a dumb encrypted blob store - it never sees your bookmark titles, URLs, or notes.

1. Create a vault at whispermarks.com - you receive a recovery phrase
2. Install the extension and unlock with your recovery phrase once
3. Add, organize, and search bookmarks - everything encrypts locally and syncs automatically
4. Move between devices and browsers freely

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

The server knows how many bookmarks you have and when they changed, but never what they contain. There is no admin recovery - if you lose your recovery phrase, your vault is gone forever. That is a feature, not a bug
