この拡張機能について
Every job advert shows a gross salary. It is the least useful number on the page.
TaxWedge adds three figures to listings on Indeed, LinkedIn, Reed, Glassdoor and TotalJobs:
• What it actually leaves you — take-home after income tax, National Insurance and any student loan.
• The rate on your next £100 — your marginal rate. This is the number that decides whether a rise is worth taking, and in the UK it is routinely twenty points away from the effective rate on the same payslip. Between £100,000 and £125,140 it is 62%, because the personal allowance is being withdrawn. In Scotland it reaches 69.5%. No rate table shows either.
• What the job costs the employer — including the employer's National Insurance, which appears on no payslip in the country and is roughly 15% of everything above £5,000.
Click any badge for the band-by-band arithmetic.
Nothing is sent anywhere. The tax engine, the rates and the calculation are inside the extension. It asks for one permission — storage, to remember your own settings — and makes no network requests at all.
Covers England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland's six-band system, on the published 2026/27 rates. It deliberately declines what it cannot answer honestly: day rates are skipped, because a day rate usually means a contractor who may be outside PAYE entirely, and a figure with no stated period is skipped rather than guessed.
Assumes one PAYE job on a standard tax code with employment income only. It is information, not tax advice.
