Smart Video Controls fixes the most annoying things about watching videos in Firefox — and now cleans up the ads that get in the way.

• Dead keyboard shortcuts on streaming sites — Space, arrows, speed controls all work, even inside embedded players other extensions can't touch (cross-origin iframes).
• Losing your place mid-episode — your position is saved automatically and restored when you return. Close the tab, come back tomorrow: you're exactly where you left off. Positions sync across your devices through your Firefox account.
• Intrusive ads around the player — video page cleanup hides ad overlays that cover the player, closes pop-under ad tabs, and sends your tab back if a site hijacks it to an ad.

• Works with cross-origin iframe players — reaches videos inside embedded players that other extensions can't.
• Automatic position resume — saved per episode, restored on every return visit.
• Keyboard shortcuts — play/pause, skip ±10s (±30s with Alt), volume, speed 0.25×–4×, fullscreen. All rebindable in the popup.
• Video page cleanup — hides ad overlays, gates, and anti-adblock walls covering the player; closes pop-under ad tabs; restores hijacked navigations. It never clicks ads.
• You stay in control — both cleanup features have toggles in the popup, and a per-site switch disables everything on any site.
