Track your time without leaving the browser

Kimai Time Tracker connects your browser directly to your self-hosted Kimai instance. Start, stop, and resume time entries from the toolbar — no need to switch tabs or open the Kimai web interface.

Quick Timer Control
- Start and stop timers with one click from the toolbar popup
- See your active timer with live duration, project, and activity

Smart URL Templates
- Define rules that auto-fill project and activity based on the current page URL
- Customizable description format with placeholders: ticket ID, subject, page title, URL

Clockwork Pro Integration (Jira)
- Automatically start a Kimai timer when you start a Clockwork Pro timer in Jira
- Automatically stop the Kimai timer when Clockwork stops
- Short entries (under 1 minute) are automatically discarded — just like Clockwork
- Reads the Jira ticket ID and subject directly from the page for accurate descriptions
- On-page toast notifications show timer status without interrupting your workflow

Organized Projects
- Projects sorted and grouped by customer: [Customer] Project
- Activities load dynamically based on the selected project

Setup

1. Install the addon
2. Open the addon settings
3. Enter your Kimai server URL and API token (found under Profile > API Access in Kimai)
4. Optionally: create URL templates to automate time tracking

Privacy

This addon does not collect or transmit any personal data. All communication happens exclusively between your browser and your own Kimai server. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party services.

Permissions Explained

• Storage — saves your settings and templates locally in the browser
• Tabs — reads the current page URL and title to auto-fill time entry descriptions
• Web Request — detects Clockwork Pro timer events for automatic Jira integration
