Spot what matters on any web page. Keyword Lantern is a keyword highlighter: it highlights the words and phrases from your own lists in the colors you choose, and tells you how often each one appears.

WHAT IT DOES
• Highlights every keyword in its own color, and you pick the colors
• Counts the matches per keyword, and jumps to the next or previous one
• Several lists (for example "Job search" and "Red flags"), each switched on or off with one click
• Paste a whole list at once: one per line, or separated by commas
• Per list: whole words only, match case, ignore accents (café = cafe)
• Phrases are found across line breaks and formatting
• Keeps up with pages that load more content as you scroll
• Advanced: regular expressions with /pattern/
• Import and export your lists (JSON, or a text file with one word per line)
• Keyboard shortcut: Alt+Shift+K
• Optional: highlight automatically on the sites you choose

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Runs only when you click it. At install it asks for no access to your sites; your browser lets it read one tab, only after you click the icon or press the shortcut.
• Want it automatic? Turn it on for specific sites, or all sites, in the settings. Your browser asks for permission and you can take it back at any time; switching it off gives the access back.
• No account, no analytics, no ads, no affiliate links, no network requests. Your lists stay in your browser.
• Free, with no word limits.

DOESN'T GET IN YOUR WAY
Highlights are drawn on top of the text instead of rewriting the page, so websites, forms and text editors keep working as before. Input fields and editors are never touched.

YOUR LISTS ARE SAFE
Lists are stored only in your browser. Updates migrate them carefully, and damaged data is backed up instead of deleted. Export a backup whenever you like.

Works on normal web pages. Browsers don't allow extensions on their own pages (settings, extension stores) or in the built-in PDF viewer.
