KeepMD EOB Decoder helps patients and caregivers understand confusing Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and medical bill text in plain English in Firefox.

Paste text into the extension popup, upload a text-based PDF locally, or highlight text on a webpage and choose Decode with KeepMD. KeepMD identifies supported ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, HCPCS Level II service and supply codes, and common insurance terms so you can better understand what you are reading before you call your insurer, provider, or billing office.

What KeepMD does:

• Explains ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes locally in the browser.
• Explains HCPCS Level II service and supply codes locally.
• Clarifies common insurance and EOB terms with KeepMD's first-party glossary.
• Detects possible CPT-style codes without showing licensed AMA CPT descriptors.
• Supports popup paste-to-decode, local text-based PDF upload, and right-click selected-text decode.
• Lets you copy explanations and download a KeepMD draft JSON file for your own records.

Privacy-first behavior:

• Decode runs locally in Firefox.
• Uploaded PDFs are read locally in the extension popup.
• The extension does not automatically scan webpages.
• The extension does not collect browsing history.
• Optional activity logging is off by default.
• If enabled, the local activity log stores aggregate feature-use counts only on this device.
• The popup includes privacy details and a clear-local-activity-log control.

Important limitations:

• KeepMD is informational only.
• KeepMD is not medical advice, legal advice, billing advice, or insurance advice.
• KeepMD does not determine whether a bill is correct.
• KeepMD does not display official AMA CPT descriptors in this version.
• PDF upload works best on text-based PDFs. OCR for scanned or image-only PDFs is not included in this version.
