This Privacy Policy describes how the "Github File Tree (Octofree)" browser extension ("the Extension") handles your data.

1. Information collection and use
The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, analytics, or browsing history to any third-party servers or to the developer. All operations, including rendering the repository file tree, occur locally within your browser.

2. GitHub Personal Access Token (PAT)
To bypass GitHub's unauthenticated API rate limits and to access private repositories, the Extension lets you optionally provide a GitHub Personal Access Token.
* Local storage only: the token is stored exclusively in the browser's extension storage (storage.sync) on your own signed-in profile.
* Direct API communication: the token is used only to authenticate direct HTTPS requests between your browser and the official GitHub API (https://api.github.com).
* No third-party transmission: your token is never sent to the developer of this extension or to any intermediate server.

3. Data processing
The Extension reads repository structures directly from GitHub via the GitHub API in order to display them as a tree. This data is processed temporarily in your browser's memory and is not persisted or shared.

4. Third-party services
The Extension relies solely on the official GitHub API. It uses no external analytics, tracking scripts, or advertising networks.

5. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Effective Date" above will be updated. Because no personal information is collected, we cannot contact you directly about changes.
