Focus Mode Toggle helps you read with fewer distractions. Click the toolbar button to hide common sidebars and comment sections and apply a soft focus filter. You can customize the CSS selectors from the options page to match the sites you visit most.

The first thing you should know: Focus Mode only acts on the current tab after you click the button, so it does not run in the background or watch every site. By default it hides typical sidebar and comment areas and lightly reduces visual noise. If a page has different structures, you can open Options and add your own CSS selectors—one per line—to tailor what gets hidden. Everything runs locally in your browser. No data leaves your device.

Under the hood, the extension uses the minimal permissions required. It relies on the “activeTab” permission to run its content script on the page you explicitly click, and “storage” to remember your selector list. There is no remote code, no analytics, no eval, and no inline JavaScript. You can remove Focus Mode at any time by clicking the button again.
