Aerial view of Angkor Wat in Cambodia's Siem Reap province. Originally constructed in the 12th century as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, it gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple complex. It is by the far the most important of Cambodia's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
