This is a genuine forward proxy, not a decorative status widget: once connected, every request this browser makes exits through your relay, and the protections described below are never quietly weakened to save a connection. No shortcuts, no silent downgrades.

Sign in with your normal UrMomsVPN account email and password. That's the whole setup. There's no separate proxy credential to generate, copy, or paste — that happens automatically, in the background, the first time you sign in, using the exact same relay infrastructure your iPhone or console proxy setup already uses. Already signed into urmomsvpn.com in this browser? A same-origin content script notices that session and skips the login screen entirely — open the popup and you land straight on the server picker. Works on every account tier, including free, no credit card or trial required.

Pick a specific server from the dropdown, or choose "Connect to fastest" to auto-select the lowest-latency option based on a real TCP-connect latency probe run against every active server in the fleet — not a hardcoded regional default, not a guess based on your billing address. Flip the power switch, and the extension verifies the tunnel actually works — a real test request through the proxy, not just "the setting was applied" — before it ever shows "Connected."

REAL PROTECTION, HONESTLY LABELED

Every protection described below does exactly what its description says. No invented AI, no fabricated risk scores, no vanity statistics designed to look good in a screenshot. Where a protection has a genuine limitation, that limitation is written down plainly in the popup itself — not buried three menus deep or left out of the description entirely.

• WebRTC / IPv6 leak protection — forces WebRTC's ICE candidate gathering through the proxy tunnel. This closes the single most common way a browser-based proxy tool leaks your real IP address even while the proxy connection itself is working perfectly: a STUN request slipping out through WebRTC and revealing your actual network address behind the relay's back. It's on by default, with nothing to configure.

• DNS leak protection — automatic the moment you're connected, no settings involved. Hostname resolution for every site you visit happens at the relay itself, not on your device, so your ISP or anyone on your local network never sees a plaintext DNS lookup revealing what you're browsing.

• Ad blocking and tracker blocking — more than 20,000 known ad and tracking domains pulled from the HaGeZi and StevenBlack blocklist projects, the same feeds already used server-side for DNS-level blocking on our Windows, Android, and iPhone VPN clients. The list refreshes automatically every 12 hours in the background with no action needed from you. A small, hand-curated list of the most common ad and tracker domains also ships bundled inside the extension itself, so basic blocking is active immediately after install — before the very first background refresh ever completes.

• Malware and phishing blocking — a live feed from abuse.ch's URLhaus project, a free, actively maintained, community-run list of confirmed-malicious hosts: malware command-and-control infrastructure, phishing kits, and drive-by download sites. It refreshes on the same 12-hour cycle as the ad and tracker list.

• HTTPS upgrade — automatically upgrades plain HTTP page loads to HTTPS wherever the site supports it, the same category of protection modern browsers are increasingly building in natively. Implemented here at the network-request level through Chrome's own declarativeNetRequest API, not through some fragile page-script hack.

• Third-party cookie blocking — strips cookies attached to cross-site requests, which is about as close to real cookie isolation as a browser extension is actually capable of delivering. This is not the same thing as Firefox's dedicated container-tab system, and this listing doesn't pretend it is — it's an honest third-party-cookie blocker, described as exactly that, both here and in the popup.

• Fingerprint reduction (opt-in, off by default) — adds noise to canvas, WebGL, and Web Audio API output, the APIs most commonly abused for browser fingerprinting, and generalizes navigator properties (hardwareConcurrency, deviceMemory) that can contribute to a unique fingerprint. Off by default on purpose: noising these APIs can visibly break sites that legitimately depend on exact pixel or audio output, including image-editing tools, some CAPTCHAs, and browser-based audio production. You decide if the tradeoff is worth it for how you browse.

WHAT IT DOESN'T CLAIM

We won't tell you a domain blocklist passes every "extreme" ad-blocker stress test floating around online. Those tests also grade cosmetic element-hiding — CSS that visually hides an ad container even when the underlying request wasn't blocked — and circumventing anti-adblock detection scripts. This extension attempts neither. A cosmetic-filtering engine is a much larger undertaking than a domain blocklist, and we'd rather say that up front than have a synthetic test fail and leave you wondering what else here might be exaggerated.

We also won't claim IPv6 leak protection at the operating-system level, because no browser extension can reach that far — there's no extension API that lets installed code disable or reroute the host OS's own IPv6 stack. WebRTC is the leak vector that actually matters for a browser-proxy extension (raw OS-level IPv6 traffic outside the browser was never routed through an extension's proxy setting to begin with), and that's precisely what's covered — nothing broader is implied.

Every protection listed in the popup carries its own short, plain-language line describing exactly what it does and exactly what it doesn't cover — written for a general audience, not buried in a EULA nobody actually opens.

HOW IT WORKS

Your browser's proxy setting points at our relay over standard HTTP CONNECT tunneling, the same mechanism used by any corporate or ISP-level HTTP proxy, authenticated automatically the moment you sign in. The relay runs on real WireGuard VPN servers in our own fleet — the same physical machines our Windows, Android, and iPhone clients connect to — so traffic genuinely exits from a real datacenter IP, not a thin intermediary box in front of the real infrastructure. Free-tier connections are speed-limited to a modest, disclosed rate; paid tiers get full, unthrottled speed through the same relays. Account tier never changes which protections are on by default — those stay identical for everyone.

WHO THIS IS FOR

If you already run the UrMomsVPN Windows or Android app and just want that same protection in one browser without a full system-wide tunnel, this gets you there without the overhead. If you're stuck on a device where you can't install a full VPN client — a locked-down work laptop, a shared computer, a Chromebook — but can install extensions, this still gets you real relay-based protection. And if you just want solid ad and tracker blocking without paying, the free tier includes it outright — a deliberate choice, not a crippled trial.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Does this work with two-factor authentication? If your account has 2FA on, the popup's login form directs you to sign in on the website first — the popup is intentionally too small a surface for a full second-factor flow, so it defers to the real login page and then auto-detects that session once you're back.

Is this a full VPN? No. A browser extension can only ever affect this one browser's own traffic — a design limit built into how proxy settings work on every browser, from every vendor, not a limitation specific to this extension. Other apps and browsers on the same device are unaffected. If you need every application covered, that's what the Windows, Android, or iPhone client is for.

Will this slow down my browsing? Paid tiers get full relay speed with no artificial cap. The free tier is speed-limited (a modest few megabits, disclosed as a real number rather than hidden throttling) to keep the free offering sustainable — you'll notice it most on large downloads, least during ordinary browsing.

What happens to my account credentials? Your email and password are sent once, directly to our backend over HTTPS, purely to authenticate you — never to a third party, never logged in plaintext, never stored in the extension beyond the session token needed to keep you signed in. The proxy-specific credential generated afterward is a separate, rotatable secret; it is not your account password, and losing or resetting it never exposes it.

Can I use this on multiple devices at once? Yes. Signing in on a second device doesn't sign you out elsewhere — the underlying proxy credential is shared per account, not tied to one device, the same way it already works across an iPhone setup, a PlayStation, an Xbox, and any other browser you've signed into.

SUPPORTED BROWSERS

Built on Manifest V3, so the same package runs on Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave without modification. A separate Firefox build is also available, using that browser's own manifest format, distributed directly from our website while we work through Mozilla's review process for addons.mozilla.org.

• A privacy advisor that checks which protection toggles above are currently switched off — an honest read of your own settings, surfaced clearly instead of buried in a submenu.

• privacy — to set WebRTC's IP-handling policy, which implements the WebRTC leak protection described above.
• storage — to save your connection state, session, and protection-toggle preferences locally, so nothing needs reconfiguring each time.
• alarms — to refresh the ad/tracker and malware lists on a schedule in the background, without the popup open.
• tabs — to read the active tab's URL, powering the popup's own per-tab risk indicator.
• Host permission (access to all sites) — a proxy extension needs to route and protect traffic on any site you visit; there's no narrower way to build this, and it's never used for tracking or analytics beyond running the proxy and its protections.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the popup shows "Couldn't verify these credentials against the proxy," the most common cause by far is a brief network hiccup between your device and the relay — try again before assuming anything's actually broken. If it keeps happening, sign out and back in; that generates a fresh proxy credential and reapplies your settings from a clean state.

If a site looks broken while connected — a missing image, a script that never loads, an off-looking layout — the likely cause is one of the blocking protections catching something it shouldn't: a false positive on the ad/tracker list, or HTTPS-upgrade hitting a page that genuinely only serves plain HTTP. Open the popup, expand "Privacy & security," and switch off ad blocking, tracker blocking, or HTTPS upgrade one at a time to isolate which is responsible. None of these are permanently locked on.

If "Connect to fastest" lands on a server that doesn't feel fastest to you personally, remember the latency probe measures the path from our backend to each relay, not from your specific device and network — a reasonable approximation for most people, not a guarantee for every configuration. Pick a specific server manually if you already know which performs best for your connection.

OUR PHILOSOPHY ON THIS LISTING

A lot of proxy and "VPN" extensions market themselves with vague, unfalsifiable phrases — military-grade encryption, AI-powered threat detection, bank-level security — language that sounds impressive and means almost nothing you could go verify. We've written this listing, and the extension's own in-popup copy, the opposite way: naming the actual mechanism behind every claim — a specific WebRTC IP-handling policy, a specific declarativeNetRequest rule, a specific named threat-intelligence feed — so you can check it yourself. Wherever a feature has a real limitation, we've said so directly rather than let a vague claim paper over it.
