The best dark mode add-on there is and nothing else comes close, visually it's brilliant! it dynamically and intelligently changes any page to look great depending on the different sites. I haven't seen one site that looks bad with it. The only problem is the performance hit on certain sites where it causes some slow downs, But it's so good that I don't really mind it that much.

It's mostly really good but on the occasional site, like Aliexpress, I need to disable it and then enable it for it to display the page correctly. I don't understand it as it is still using the same filter when I cycle it but for some reason it has to be done to a few sites to display properly. Other than that this is a must have as while backgrounds are eyeball destroyers.

This extension hijacks searches to include their referral tag to steal rep and/or money for themselves. When directly going to www.google.com and running a manual search in the search bar, this addon hijacks the search to include its referral tag, making Google think this app initiated the search. This is similar to how Honey steals money via referral codes. Go to Google, run a search, then disable the addon and do the same thing. Compare the URL bar.

Recently slowing down all pages on mozilla firefox and several other pages. If developers can fix this, this is the best extension. Please fix this "slowing down firefox" problem.

dark reader recently started really slowing down web pages like reddit. a shame because the contrast toggle is really useful

Nifty extension that does what it says and used to be really useful, it helps reduce eyestrain by giving me a dark mode on websites that don't have it. I used to leave it on all the time. But lately (past 2 months or so) it's been slowing down firefox and I have to disable it for the page to load properly. Really hope the issue gets fixed soon - if yes, 5 stars!

Used this extension for many years and loved it. I had to remove it recently as it was severely slowing down my web pages. sad

by far the most polished dark mode addon, for most people this is the one you want to use. unfortunately for mobile users who prefer to browse x.com (formerly twitter) with adblock instead of through the android x app, this extension will slow your phone to a crawl after a few hours of browsing, forcing you to clear data and quit firefox. long story short: this is a great extension, but it's not updated regularly enough for anyone to consider donating, it's clearly abandonded. check out "Dark Background and Light Text" by Mikhail Khvoinitsky for an alternative darkmode extension on Firefox

It breaks too often and when it does it locks up your browser for an extended period of time.

It struggles on far too many websites and ultimately slows down the majority of website load times. Things once blinked to load and this extension makes them hang.

Sad because it use to work a whole lot better, but I find myself disabling it more and more to the point Im wondering why I even keep it. I also think this is the cause for locking up the entire browser every once in a great while.

If this isnt updated to run with reddit I'm going somewhere else. This month this addon has been crashing my browser.

Works on most sites, though there's currently a memory leak issue when using it on Reddit. Memory usage climbs to 6GB+ for a single tab. I'll update my rating if it's ever fixed.

From my experience of using the extension, the add-on seems to be unsatisfactory at best, and unusable at worst. For instance, basically every site that I visited had the logo at the lop-left corner of the screen blend in with the background in terms of color. It will also sometimes just not work as expected, and by sometimes I mean almost all of the sites that I visit. Even the site on which I'm writing this review (addons(dot)mozilla(dot)org/) is in white mode while running the extension. You should really fix your utility before asking users to donate $10 (which happens immediately, mind you).
