Reason Gate is a speed bump for the sites you open on autopilot.

When you open a site on your list, a short page asks why first. Write a real reason (at least 3 words by default), and the site opens. Every reason goes into a log you can review and export as CSV.

• Pick sites with one click (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Twitch, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, Pinterest) or add any domain or path yourself
• Nothing is gated until you confirm your list on the first-run page
• Repeated words and keyboard mashing do not count as a reason
• The prompt shows your recent reasons for that site, grouped by day
• Adjustable minimum number of words
• CSV export of the log

Privacy: no account, no analytics, no data leaves your computer. Reasons typed in private windows are never saved. The only network requests are icon downloads for listed sites that have no bundled icon.

Reason Gate is a self-control aid, not a lock: you can always disable it.
