ReadAI is a lightweight reading companion that lives in your browser. Highlight any text on any webpage and press Alt+Shift+X to get an instant AI-powered explanation that considers the full paragraph around what you selected — so you understand not just what something means, but what it means in context.

HOW IT WORKS

Highlight a sentence, phrase, or paragraph and press Alt+Shift+X. ReadAI sends your selection and its surrounding context to the AI and shows a plain-English explanation in a small popup right where you're reading. Ask follow-up questions inside the popup without losing your place on the page.

Highlight a single word and ReadAI automatically switches to dictionary mode — showing the definition, part of speech, phonetic pronunciation, and an example sentence in a clean card layout.

OFFLINE SUPPORT

A 26,000-word dictionary is downloaded to your device on first install. When you're offline and highlight a single word, ReadAI looks it up locally with no internet needed.

YOUR KEY, YOUR DATA

ReadAI uses your own free Groq API key. Get one at console.groq.com — no credit card required. Your key is stored locally on your device and never passes through any ReadAI server.

GETTING STARTED

1. Install ReadAI
2. Click the extension icon in your toolbar
3. Paste your free Groq API key and save it
4. Highlight any text on any webpage
5. Press Alt+Shift+X

PRIVACY

ReadAI collects no personal data. Highlighted text goes directly from your browser to Groq's API using your own key. There is no ReadAI backend or server of any kind.
