Quite good add-on. It needs some initial configuration (basically, exclude unwanted engines, add some others et.c.), after which it works well.
PS. `Google Translate` settings seems to be broken, easily fixable though.

Very useful but currently buggy: Any change to settings are not saved, even within an active session: Checked "Make new tab active" and switched options at the top of menu, close settings, test and first search engine is not displayed in menu. Reopen settings, all reverted to default. Made changes again, unchecked and rechecked first search, works for the rest of the session but reverts to default again when opening settings or closing firefox. Exported settings to file, but importing does nothing. Try adding a save button in settings.

I've lost all my custom search engines with the last update. Dude, If it something works, don't touch it.

I've recovered all settings and custom search engines from an profile backup. Simpler.

Today I've updated to fresh version of this addon and it has replaced all my carefully made searches with a load of useless default ones. Good job.

It does not work for me too:
1. it is absent in context menu
2. list of search engines in settings is empty
and stays empty after settings reset
3. Tries to add custom engine are not successful


P.S. It started working after plugin reinstalling. Issue to github was added.

I've been using this add-on for many years, and it saves a ton of time. I was a little disappointed in the recent update that broke some things, but it gave me the opportunity to clean up some of the engines and organize what I really use. I noticed the dev monitors these reviews. Do you know how to add google images? I tried "https://images.google.com/search?q=" but that only takes me to google images search page. What would I put to go directly to the search results?

After the latest update I seem to have room for max 13 active search engines in the context menu. Can it be fixed? Excellent add-on!

Edit: I managed to re-add the search engines I wanted, but it didn't work right away. Also after the update all settings and search engines were gone, but luckily I had them in a local file, but after importing only 13 were shown in the menu.

Answer: 14 active out of 17 in total. First the top one wasn't shown. Then I deleted and re-added it, after which the bottom one disappeared from the menu. Then delete and re-add again, and it worked.

August 24th update deleted ALL my settings. that's fun. 3 stars for being amazing for years tho

One question though: Is there any way to send message to it? The reason I ask is I would like to activate search-engine selection from another add-on called Gesturefy, so not using context menu, but gestures.

FYI: I have also experienced the update issue. Probably one of the reason for it is that addon did not update with FF80 at all, even though I manually called all addons to update. It works almost fine now on my Kubuntu 20.04, as with those instructions on github, except for favicons. Don't give up :-)

Yes, the issue is still there everytime I restart Firefox.

This is without a doubt my favorite extension. There isn't a single day that passes when I don't use it. I'm so saddened to learn that it will no longer be supported and removed. Thank you for all your hard work...

It's a useful add-on, but I have an issue and seemingly no way to report it, since the github repo has disappeared. So here it is: could you please remove all of the console.log calls from the selection.js file?
