- Rated 1 out of 5by silvatek, 4 months agoSadly no longer works for me. I'm not sure what's changed but I can no longer get Open or Save options on videos.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15097235, 6 months agoIt works fine for me! I had to enable the the "Optional permission for added functionality":
Add-ons >
Extensions >
Instab >
Permissions tab >
Toggle on "Access your data for sites in the *://instagram.com domain"
• Downloads 1 image at a time out of gallery posts, non-configurable
• No config or advanced features to make it stand out much from other extensions; but sometimes simplicity is a benefit
• Pop-up buttons stick out against dark mode theming, I find this mildly annoying
• Open source viewable on GitHub; theoretically less likely to be mining bitcoin on my PC or selling my passwords than some alternatives :) - Rated 1 out of 5by Andre, 9 months ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14856140, a year agoWhat is going on with this app!? First it was just story videos that couldn't be saved and now videos in feed can't be saved. Opening in new tab doesn't work. Is there any way for this to be fixed?
- Rated 4 out of 5by Deniz Kocatepe, a year agoIt would be great if we could download the files along with the username.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17801857, 2 years agoThis used to the best Instagram Plugin and the only one that saves stories from people with private accounts that you follow. However, now it seems to be abandoned. It doesn't save video stories, in most video posts it displays a huge "Open in new tab" button over the save button so you can't click it to save, some photos are saved in webp format instead of jpg and also some photos are not saved with the IG account name as filename prefix but with the word "null". Every time Instagram changes something in its layout, this plugin breaks down even more.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16840235, 2 years agoEffortlessly downloads photos from both posts and stories, but as of a few weeks ago, it no longer works for downloading videos. There are other add-ons that are apparently still capable of this, but it’s a shame that it cannot be done anymore with Instab in particular, as it holds the distinction of being the only add-on that I know of which can successfully download stories from a mobile device, as while it isn’t supported for Firefox Mobile, it actually works great running it on Android via Firefox Nightly! Granted, that’s a workaround rather than an ”official” use that I’d expect support for, but the fact that I can still use it even when I don’t have access to a desktop is a great perk and has been tremendously useful, especially given the ephemeral nature of Stories.
The issue with video stories (and frequently but not always video posts) has cropped up in the past for Instab and was fixed by the dev, and even though it hasn’t been updated in eight months, the same issue also cropped up around four months ago and lasted for a while before seemingly resolving itself, so I can only hope that Instab will return to full functionality one way or another again soon, as it has been the most useful Instagram downloader I’ve ever used. - Rated 5 out of 5by MayinEllen, 2 years ago
