The largest change DrawNigh has had. Everything below is new since 1.0.9.

• The Secret Place. A room inside DrawNigh, behind a verse you choose, a knock you choose and a word you choose. Write what you carry — a letter, a struggle, a testimony — filed under names you make yourself. Nothing in it is counted, scored or seen. Put a letter away in the seal and it leaves every list completely, and nothing there can be deleted for three months. The three locks guard the screen; the device itself is what guards the writing, and what travels in your backup code is sealed.

• Reading aloud. The voice already in your phone reads verse after verse — offline, nothing recorded, nothing sent. A verse heard is a verse read, so the day, the streak and the plan all move as they always did. It stops at the end of each chapter and waits, unless you turn that off. Speed, verse numbers and the voice itself are yours to set.

• This season. One line you set for yourself, greeting you on the reading screen with the verse of the day. Setting a new one keeps the old, dated, in order. Nothing is ever deleted.

• Move your backup by camera. Your code as a square, read by any phone's own camera. If a camera struggles, one tap redraws the same code as more squares, each one looser — and tapping the square fills the screen.

• Plans your way. Set a plan by the day you want to finish, or by how many verses a day suits you. Either way the line beneath tells you what it works out to before you lock it in.

• Catch me up now banks the book. A book finished by catching up was never recorded as finished — no First Draw, no Well tier, no road walked. It is fixed, and a one-time repair gives back the completions that were provably missed.

• Gems of Light is one list again, newest first, whichever mark you used.

• Steadier all round: one to five chimes with nine volume steps and a stretch reaching +15 minutes; a Well no longer shows an empty target; and a merge now carries your gems across, and brings a room to a device that has none.

New

• Gems of Light — two marks now, not one. ♥ a verse you want again; ⚡ a verse that stopped you where you stood. A verse can carry both. One list, newest first, filterable — you shouldn't have to remember which drawer you used.

• Digging the Well — stay in one book and read it round again. No daily number, no end date, no percentage. Depth, not pace. At the bottom of each draw it names the count and asks whether to draw again.

• The prayer timer now survives a dark screen. It reads the clock instead of counting ticks, holds the screen awake while a prayer runs, and books the chime ahead so it can sound with the phone down. Close the app mid-prayer and reopening returns you to it, still running.

• Set your own pace. Change the daily number or the finish date directly — each moves the other, and the sentence under them tells you exactly what it costs. Your reading, streak and totals are untouched by any adjustment.

• Badges now show the count and the gap on every card, and each heading opens its full ladder — all eleven flame tiers, all fifteen ranks, from day one. At the head of the screen: presence over performance. No number here makes a man nearer to God than another.

• Backup codes are far shorter — up to six times shorter — and old codes still work. If a code carries days the app has no record of, it now asks you plainly whether you read on every one of them, rather than guessing.

• The chapter line on the reading screen, and the ⋮ menu stays put when you resize the window.

This update gathers up everything built since 1.0.1.

New

• Prayer timer — hold a verse and pray with it. Anything from 5 seconds to 15 minutes, stretchable mid-prayer, pausable with a tap, and cancellable in silence. A soft chime closes it.

• Badges — a tile for each of the 66 books, showing how far you have walked each one and how deep you have gone. Ranks, streak badges, and a count of whole Bibles read.

• Reading plan ladder — if life gets heavy and the daily number stops being met, DrawNigh quietly offers a smaller one rather than letting everything break. It offers to grow back too, when you are ready.

• A suggestion box in Settings. Tell me what DrawNigh should do next — every improvement so far came from someone noticing something while actually reading.

• A way to give, in Settings, for anyone who wants to help keep DrawNigh growing. It stays free forever either way.

Fixed

• Seven verses were showing incomplete text. John 14:11, Genesis 42:16, 2 Corinthians 1:6, Joshua 21:17, 1 Chronicles 3:11, 1 Chronicles 3:12 and 1 Chronicles 11:30 were each cut short mid-sentence by a fault in how translators' notes had been separated out. All seven now read in full. A further 159 verses had a translator's note welded into the Scripture itself; those notes now sit where notes belong.

• The Book · Chapter · Verse jump row is back on the main reading screen.

• On a laptop, the ⋮ menu now opens directly under its own button instead of at the bottom of the window.

• The full-Bible plan now reads 31,100 verses, which is the true count.

Your reading is untouched by this update — verses read, streak, plan progress and favourites all carry straight over. Everything still stays on your own device. No account, no server, nothing sent anywhere.

Prev now works from your position in the reading rather than the session, so it survives a restart and reaches verses that Catch me up skipped past. Prev and a Favorites star have been added to the browsing verse card, which can now be dragged anywhere on desktop and stays where you put it. The 1611 translators' margin notes have been separated from the verse text — Scripture now reads clean, and the notes appear beneath only if you switch them on in Settings. Catch me up now asks which verse you stopped on, instead of crediting the whole chapter. Backup codes can now be merged with what is already on the device, so an older code can no longer overwrite newer reading.
