I tried some extensions that give your Inbox a "Pause Button", but this one is even better, because it completely hides all the mess of your Inbox. You can search for stuff or work on emails with a specific label without being distracted by new mails coming in. Fabulous. Highly recommended.

Does exactly what I needed without being overly draconian -- just by hiding my email, it's helping me be more attentive to how often, and how long, I spend in it.

Simple, great, free. if i go to write email, i finish it first and than probably read the incomming email. not wise versa, that caused, that i forgot to finist writing email.

I've been using Inbox When Ready for years because it makes Gmail infinitely more tolerable. The best option is still to jettison Gmail altogether, but in the meantime this is one of my favorite Firefox extensions.

Just having the Inbox hidden makes you more tranquil and focused on your goals. This extension is really great and I highly recommend it to everybody.

Given how simple it is, it's surprisingly effective for lowering distraction.
