Trailback add-on privacy policy

What it handles: the title and web address (URL) of the page you are viewing in a normal (non-private) Firefox window. If — and only if — you turn on "Include text I select" in the Trailback app and grant the permission in the add-on's options, it also handles the text you have selected on that page (up to 2,000 characters).

Where it goes: only to the Trailback desktop app on the same computer, through Firefox native messaging (host "app.trailback.native"). The Trailback app stores it in an encrypted file on your computer so you can search it later. The add-on makes no network requests, and neither the add-on nor the app sends this information to us or to anyone else.

What it never handles: private windows, page contents, what you type, passwords, or cookies. There are no ads, analytics or tracking.

Your control: pause Trailback at any time, exclude websites, or delete any or all of your history in the Trailback app. Uninstalling the add-on stops it immediately.
