Tab Suspender automatically frees up memory by putting inactive tabs to sleep after a period of inactivity you choose. Instead of leaving dozens of tabs running in the background and consuming RAM, each tab gets replaced with a lightweight suspended page that preserves its title and URL. When you need the tab back, a single click restores it exactly where you left off.

How it works

• A content script detects your activity in each tab (clicks, scrolling, typing) and reports it to the background engine.
• The background script tracks how long each tab has been idle.
• Once a tab exceeds your chosen inactivity timeout, it gets suspended and its memory is released.
• Suspended tabs show a restore page with the original title, URL, and favicon. Click Restore Tab to reload it.

Privacy

Tab Suspender does not collect, transmit, or share any data. All tab tracking and suspension state is stored locally in your browser. The extension requires the tabs, storage, alarms, management, and idle permissions to function, and nothing more.
